Breaking news: Enough Nuclear material for 2 dirty bombs smuggled into US
Both our North and South borders were easily breached with forged paperwork according to CNN. While they have regularly beat airport security with bombs, knives and guns, this time managed Federal authorities smuggled in much dreaded Nuclear material from Mexico and Canada.

12. naa
everyone knows it's easier to go across long totally unguarded borders than to go through customs like the GAO report claims these Feds did.

3. How do they determine what "enough" is? If the choice is
between one big one and two smaller ones, why couldn't the two smaller ones be split into four littler ones and so on?

9. I bet Depleted Uranium can be made into a dirty bomb
And it's floating around all over Iraq!

Kids can probably just collect it on the playground after school and give piles of it to terrorists.

23. nope
DU is not sufficient to do any radioactive damage. The point is, that if this stuff was enriched plutonium it would have gotten into the U.S. Homeland Insecurity Failed! get it?

32. yeah, i want to see some of these trolls who flamed and threated me
When I first started proposing anti-war CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE at DU, several people posted on my threads that repukes carry guns and might shoot us... Now is the time for them to show just how brave they are... What? no takers... Just what I knew back then.

They really do want a terrorist incident, don't they? Even an incompetent copy-cat one would do right now to distract CNN viewers.

Ratings month or election coming up?

16. Of course, because...
...based on my "autumn terra attack" scenario described in the post below, the Bushies will be able to point to Democrats opposing the Repug anti-illegal-aliens bill that "would have protected" the border. It will be the bleeding-heart, soft-on-terra liberals' fault for "letting it happen."

:puke:

15. The Repugs have clearly chosen "immigration" as their 2006 campaign theme
I wouldn't be the least surprised to see a terra attack sometime this late summer or fall -- with evidence that the al-Qaeda terraists entered the U.S. over the Mexican border.

This would be the only way to tie the traditional Repug themes of "be very afraid" and "we're the only ones who can protect you from the big bad bin Ladin" into a mid-term election.

18. what a foolish campaign theme but it's true
I wonder how many terrorists have already come into America and I'm not talking about Mid-Easterners. Some illegal immigrants will be unhappy no matter what law they draft in DC... Can you say, "CHE?"

19. Nonsense
It had to be a very low emitter for them to carry it unshielded without harming themselves and innocent bystanders.

Now if they were sneaking in something serious such as cobalt sixty one could get worried.

More BS.

Bush and his National Insecurity Trolls failed. It could have been damn enriched plutonium and gotten through... It was easy with some forged paperwork. Nobody checked the RADS.

26. That is true also
but Coleman wants people to be scared a of dirty bomb. He is not trying to make border security look bad.

"Look out run run you will all be killed a dirty bomb." BS

Any crude nuclear bomb would likely need a truck to carry it or something like a shipping container coming on a ship. That of course would probably get through undetected and would not even have to leave the ship to be an effective terror weapon.

27. like with the immigrant scam, repukes are screwing to pooch on this issue
if you'll pardon the pun, I believe it's going to blow up in their face... These fools are trying to make us more afraid but by over-playing their hand they've finally blown any chance of getting elected. Scared people act crazy and the gennie won't go back into the bottle.

21. Gov. Richardson did a great job on Wolf addressing this just now..
Talked about how many requests he made for funding and manpower, and was continuously shot down.

Also how his warnings that something like this could happen has fallen on deaf ears.

He did a good job!

22. CNN is hammering the crooks pretty well these days
All of you can see this however you like but rank and file republicans will see it as a government failure. I believe many will jump ship over this news story. It is essentially the straw that will break the proverbial camels back if 20,000 rioting immigrants don't crush the whole rotting animal.
