Obituary for Russ Feingold – a question?
He is not so all alone. Among his peers, he will be attacked mercilessly, from all sides. But millions of hearts throughout the planet are praying for him and hold very dear the truth that he has set upon the alter of public opinion. Are tyrannical psychopaths, even our own homegrown version, to be tolerated and supported or denounced and reviled?

If we do not rally to support him, his voice will be snuffed out just as certain as all those who have come before him. When this happens, and it will, when the call is not heard, when the unfaithful abandon him to his enemies, an obituary will have to be written.
The only question that remains is: Who will it be written for?

Will Russ be dead to us, or will it simply be the death rattle of the Democratic Party?

We must make a choice now, to witness the death of a voice of truth, or the death of a party. Surely both cannot survive this test. One must die. You get to choose.

Marathon county Dem's stands behind Russ

The Democratic party just needs to rise from the ashes - we have been the whipping boy for too long. Stand up or get out of the way!

11. I missed the meeting,(I was curling) but I sent an e-mail to the chair
"I wish I could have been at the meeting last night because I would have also voted to support Feingold - that said I have to say I am once again disappointed in Russ Decker. He wants to appeal to the swing voter by doing nothing and letting the republican criminals go unchecked. We need to get the non-voters motivated and by being wishy-washy they will continue to stay home. We are more likely to get the swing voters by taking strong stands on issues that are black and white like breaking the law by using warrant-less searches on American citizens."

Everyone that believes in Russ's censure movement should go to their party meetings and make a similar motion!!!!

he needs to hear from us too, if enough of us call he might actually support Feingold.

2. Russ will live on, and so will the Democratic Party.
I respect Russ for bringing this issue up. We will be in a much stronger position when we regain the congress in November.

So I think Russ is right, and I also think Harry Reid is right.

I'm looking forward to Dem majority leaders who will initiate real investigations into the wrongdoings of this administration, but that won't happen until we regain the majority.

3. LOL
Lighten up. All this hyperbole and purple prose is edging over into silly. Next time Russ does something people on DU don't like, he'll be called a traitor. Remember how he was treated for voting for Roberts? Russ isn't going anywhere and neither is the dem party. Everyone needs to take a deep breath.

4. So you can reconcile the two.
A vote to support tyranny coming from within the Democratic Party? Who are you? What are you? How do you accomplish that?

Or, do you think I am wrong in the premise, that the Party will not unite for censure?

Thanks for the praise about the purple prose (patting self on back).

5. Russ is a Profile in Courage
If John Kennedy were having Ted Sorenson ghost-write Profiles in Courage the day after tomorrow, Russ would have been included. He is a brave man to stand along against the prevailing winds that are blowing ill across our great country today. He the true uniter and will be utterly vindicated by the future when we awaken from the current national nightmare. This is a dark day in America, but Russ is showing he's got the cojones to lead us! Censuring Bush is a mere slap on the hand and still the Democrats refuse to stand with him. For shame! Cowards!

8. A true uniter.
Yes, that is the crux of the whole mess. Our party leadership answers to the same corporate masters as the Bush cabal. This move by Russ threatens to expose this deadly alliance. He is not afraid to stare this monster down. We are blessed to have him on our side. Courage, indeed.
