I've been trying to listen to a little bit of each previous days broadcast on The White Rose site. I've also read his "We the People" and am currently reading "Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight". This guy gets it 100% and does his job well. I wish we could get him in every major market. I think he can reach more people than Randi but that's me.

| 2. His is AAR's first syndicated show. Talk him up in your market... |
|
...to stations where he'd fit!

an AAR station here in Philly right now and when they did they had RR in the PM drive. I found her to be too abrasive and her NY accent turns off Philly people who hate NY. Maybe we'll get Hartmann some day.

| 7. But that's the point. They can provide a syndicated show to any station. |
|
It doesn't have to be a network AAR affiliate. Syndication is a separate effort from the network. So if there's ANY station where something like Thom could fit in - even a music station on a Saturday during the public affairs block - this is an opportunity.

...about that NY accent. While I'm not a Philly resident(not since college, anyway), that voice just kills me. Another one is RFK, Jr. He always sounds like he's about to die.

I always wondered why he didn't go into politics. Then I heard his voice. Holy cow.

| 12. Bobby Kennedy can't help it that he has a bad voice. |
|
Kennedy suffers from a condition called sapasmodic dysphonia, a disorder which causes his voice to sound queary and strangled and makes speech difficult.
He can't help it, I feel bad that he has to go through like this.

| 13. That's unfortunate... |
|
...but it's difficult to listen to. The whole point is getting the message out, and if people are uncomfortable listening, they won't. And, all other things being equal, I'd take being a Kennedy with spasmodic dysphonia over the opportunity to be a (comparatively) smooth-talking (but full of shit) radio host like Rush.

|
Bernie Sanders that is.
Malloy is #2. Maddow is pretty great and San Sedar has improved a lot since the launch. Franken doesn't do it for me any more.....

I love Thom. He's a great progressive. I hear more about labor, jobs, and the environment there than anywhere else.

(Assuming you remember those days...)
But you're right. Hartman has the knack of putting the issues in clear terms that peopel who might not consider themselves "on the left" can relate to also.
His critiques of what has gone wrong, and how progressive politics is simply an expression of traditional Amrican values is what our side needs to do more of.
