Former Sen. John Edwards (D-NC) spoke at local Democratic Party fundraisers in Davenport and Iowa City, Iowa. The events were part of a two-day trip to Iowa by Sen. Edwards on February 25-26, 2006. Iowa is expected to hold the nation's first presidential caucus in 2008.

1. Next to Wes Clark and Al Gore...
I'd like to see John Edwards get the nod as our nominee in 08. If Hillary gets the nomination then we're all fucked.

3. Exactly
It's the same thing even though the person isn't a liberal. Not every liberal is a democrat and not every democrat is a liberal.

4. If you think the best we have to offer is Hillary...
then we really are in trouble. I like Hillary and everything, but there is no way she can win the Presidency.

Also, it'll be a lot harder to call General Wesley Clark a bleeding heart liberal. Same goes for John Edwards.

7. Edwards is great!
Kerry was smart to pick him as his running mate. He's been doing great work.
