Bought "All the President's Men" DVD this week.
I think it should be required watching (and of course, reading (the book)) for all journalists and would-be journalists.

Cover-ups, fear mongering, lies, fake press releases, follow the money...sound familiar?

3. Nixon's downfall and Robert Redford all in one movie

Who could ask for anything more?

BTW the poster above is correct. "Dick" is hysterical (I've got to watch that again). I first saw it with a couple of my nieces, whom I embarrassed by laughing so hard I could hardly breath. We saw it again together when it came out on video so I could explain some of the hilarity to them.

Watch it and find out the real reason for the 18 minute gap in the tape.

4. I have Oliver Stone's NIXON on DVD.
It's a pretty good movie. I haven't seen ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN, but I do have the book. I plan on getting the movie as soon as possible.

too.

Those were the days.

7. You should also purchase or borrow a copy of PBS WaterGate Plus 30
and watch that incredible documentary - a lot of the names you hear mentioned in All the President's Men is shown and interviwed for this documentary - it's an execellent companion - and it's a whole lot more indepth. (naturally)

11. I bought it too...
Thought the extras were GREAT and the Redford commentary is outstanding...love how he keeps throwing in the "see any similarties" throughout the commentary...go Bob!!! This movie was brilliant...Jason Robards steals the show...

.....many times. Of course, I saw it in the theatre also. There are SO many comparisons to the present situation.

18. I'm reminded of the lady in the apt. they go to (Mrs. Abbott...wrong
Abbott who worked at Garfinkel's) who is a Republican who says she's so happy about what W&B are doing. She's been a Republican all her life and what Nixon is doing is "a threat to our constitution." Sounds all too familiar.
