The pictures I see of Cheney hunting have him wearing big

earmuff style hearing protectors. Unless you are hunting planted birds over dogs, how the hell can you hunt that way? How could you hear an approaching hunter announce their presence? Earmuffs are for target shooting. I haven't hunted birds in years, but I heard every grouse, pheasant or woodcock I ever shot before I saw it, except for the ocassional grouse that flushed out of a tree, and I usually missed those anyway.

Why would Cheney want to protect his hearing anyway? 1) He is old and in poor health. 2) He never listens to anyone anyway.
