I REJECT the constant use of the phrase "I reject" by this administration.
Snotty uses it all the time.
I heard Chimpy use it lately.
And now others have started, even the Repug talking heads on cable news shows.

Today, it was two for one day:

Top White House and Homeland Security officials pushed back hard on Monday against criticism of the federal government's response to Hurricane Katrina.

"I reject outright the suggestion that President Bush was anything less than fully involved," said White House homeland security adviser Frances Fragos Townsend.

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said he "unequivocally and strongly" rejected suggestions that his agency was preoccupied with terror threats, at the expense of preparing for natural disasters.

1. oh it's one of those cute little "per se" things they do
trying to sound authoritative and statesmanlike. There was a point where Cheney and Rumfilled couldn't get two consecutive sentences out without saying "per se", which is what you say when you are mentally incapable of saying exactly what you mean and you want people to come to their own conclusions.

It's like that deadly spousal trap we have all fallen into with the ones that didn't work out: "if you knew me well enough you wouldn't have to ask" crap.

So "I reject" is the new "per se". Huh.

2. "I reject" is just another way to say "STFU. No one cares what you think."
How I wish we could get these arrogant pricks out of power...

4. I wish reporters would start coming back at them
by saying "just because you 'reject' what I've said doesn't mean that I'm wrong."

6. The use of "I reject" by the Bush admin is "not widespread"
It's the work of a few isolated individuals and does not reflect upon the hard work and integrity of the Bush administration.

:sarcasm:

Personally, I reject the idea that every single member of the GOP is not a corrupt, money grubbing asshole.
