Utah Town Has Question About President: 'What's Not to Like?'
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 12:10 PM by ECH1969
"The mind-set of Utah" is how Frank Guliuzza III, chairman of the political science department at Weber State University in Ogden, explains the percentages. Not only is Utah the nation's most Republican state, "there's a sense of loyalty and patriotism that kind of overcomes the tendency toward cynicism that is evident in the rest of the country right now," he says. In Randolph, though -- where Bush received 95.6 percent of the vote and support for him continues to be nearly unanimous.

One church, where everyone gathered to welcome the young man home from Iraq with ice cream. The courthouse where Ames works is near the one little market, which is near the one service station, the part-time hair cutter, and the one bank, where deposits are up and defaults are down and banker Adam Jensen says of Bush, "What's not to like about him?"

I think he's a very caring man. I think he's a decent, God-fearing person, and I hope we are, too." In comes Blair Hurd, the high school shop teacher, who says: "This whole thing with domestic spying? I think there's a little bit of it that needs to go on. I do. And if he" -- meaning Bush -- "is listening to my calls? I'm not doing anything wrong. Why would I care?

Within that 42 percent (approval) are places where approval of Bush remains high, such as Nebraska, where it's at 55 percent, according to a recent poll, and Idaho, where it's 58 percent. Highest of all, though, at 61 percent, is Utah, which also gave him 71.5 percent of the vote in 2004, the highest of any state. Eight o'clock now, and out Cheney and Louderman go into what's left of a day in Randolph."I don't think there's anything he could say that would make me dislike him," she says.

1. These people want to be slaves - they don't care who their
owner is just as long as they are owned. Freedom of, thought, action, word or deed frightens the be jesus out of them so they surrender to papa *.

And by the way - Ask the citizens of New Orleans just how caring a man * is. No never mind the answers would disturb you.

7. Seems to be the common thread among religiocrazies
Please God, Free me from the yoke of personal responsibility. Shield my eyes from the ugly truths so my beautiful spirit will remain un-molested. Why is little Johnnies anus bleeding father Michael?

It's such a sweet setup too! You see, all is forgiven, Wassamatter! Don't you read your good book?

There is a sickness in this land, Jesus ain't gonna save us, and if god exists, he's gonna be pissed at our arrogance, hubris, pride and general stupidity.

I'm prayin for your souls, you shallow, mis-guided, selfish, blind, sheepish dolts.

Don't flame me brother, just explain to me how we're getting out of this mess, without invoking the name of Jesus, it makes him cry.

Good -- they can have him. He should switch to being their governor
instead. Wrong headline in the paper for that one. Should have been: State of the Union: one state still likes Bush

18. Say that again Pat Robertson's neighbor?
An alumni of Falwell's Liberty University, I presume. You Va. confederates are all alike.

Regionalism sucks, doesn't it? Back up your assertion that "most" of the west approves of this dipshit in the upper 50s, or just go back to your inbred, 3 teeth in her head, sister and knock her up for Jesus in GAWD'S own land of Virginnie!:eyes:

15. Some of it's simply love of party....
I remember when Clinton came into office, I was enamoured with the guy. It didn't last long, "our" honeymoon was pretty short. By the time he had signed welfare reform, I had left camp. Many of my friends who had previously completed my sentences, could not understand my disgust. They were just as enamoured as ever....the sheen had not dulled. I couldn't figure it out, except that they simply loved the party and their "candidate".

By the time the Monica crap started, I couldn't have cared less..but some of them were actually let down, like a pin in a balloon.
I see similarities with Bush and repubs that just don't get it....they're still enamoured. Bush will have to do something to strike at their core, which is different than yours and mine.

Don't fret....Bush's ethics will be blown.

I read this from the begining, (link takes you to 3rd page) and this has to be the most unintelligent community in the U.S.
I might just drive there some day to make fun of the entire populace. And bring them some Dijon.

""Dijon mustard," Louderman says as the woman drives away. "I don't know what Dijon mustard is. Don't care to find out, either."
