Capitol Hill Blue: Bush's lies can't hide the truth about...Abramoff
Capitol Hill Blue
Bush's lies can't hide the truth about relationship with Jack Abramoff
Doug Thompson
Jan 30, 2006

President George W. Bush’s ability to lie his way out of trouble is failing him as the White House tries unsuccessfully to hide the truth about the President’s close relationship to scandal-scarred lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

And while Republicans publicly still support Bush, privately they admit the White House and the party are in serious trouble from the Abramoff affair.

Abramoff was a product of a determined GOP effort to put more lobbyists on K Street, the stretch of Washington real estate that is home to many of the rich and powerful sellers of influence. That was former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay’s job and DeLay is as crooked as Abramoff.

“Fuck the law,” Delay told me in a meeting in 1990. “I don’t give a rat’s ass about the law.” I met with Delay through my role as Vice President for Political Programs for the National Association of Realtors. DeLay wanted us to hire more Republicans.

1. Maybe i'm old fashioned
but isn't it wrong for the President to try to lie his way out of trouble? I mean even if he could do it successfully (which doesn't seem to be the case here).

5. Capitol Hill Blue is not a reliable news source.
Anyway, who care about the Bush-Abramoff photos. The point is that Abramoff was a high-level member of the Bush-Cheney transition team. Abramoff worked on the Interior Dept. transition which set him up fpr scamming the Indian tribes. That is the real story here that Bush-Cheney cannot dispute

6. If Abramoff was on Bush transition team, then there are photo's from
Crawford, Tx., I'd bet. He always does his Transition Work from his Pig Farm. And, that would be very damning.

Whether Doug Thompson is reliable or not, I don't know. But, there's enough pressure building out there that one wonders if there isn't a "blue dress" that everyone knows about and that's why they are pushing for Bush to come clean and get it out of the way.

Liberal Bloggers keep pushing this and at first I was skeptical about them focusing on the "pictures" but there's just too much buzz.

Wouldn't it be great to see Abramoff at the ranch hugging Condi and Chimp with Rummy in the background. :D
