New York Times: Bush is lying about spying on Americans
Just trust us. Mr. Bush made himself the judge of the proper balance between national security and Americans' rights, between the law and presidential power. He wants Americans to accept, on faith, that he is doing it right. But even if the United States had a government based on the good character of elected officials rather than law, Mr. Bush would not have earned that kind of trust.

2. Well, as I just wrote on my blog...
The NY Times hit the points home beaufifully, particulary about BushCo's blind trust approach to politics.

However, if they were really concerned about this, they should not have let one of their one carry the WMD water for the Administration, and they should not have sat on the spy story for a year.

This op/ed doesn't, in my opinion, give the NY Times a pass for carrying water for the Administration.

3. They broke the law, period!
And I have this question! If the NSA & Bush spying proves in a court of law, to be unconstitutional. Want that just make anyone arrested for terrorism under this guise hard to convict in a court of law? Because the way they were caught was illegal, case dismissed!

4. Tranparency. Final word
Nothing less. If theyre doing something without a watchdog, then they are wrong. They can argue all they want about legality. I could care less. I want transparent government. PERIOD. I dont trust anyone. I trust only when verified.
