bush's name is MUD in New Orleans
Yesterday's Times-Picayune was full of anti-bush editorials and LTTE's. Remember when the chimp came to New Orleans in the dark of night and promised that all would be better. Well, not quite. He said he would not support the Baker Plan which would set up a governmental agency that would buy flood-damaged homes, pay off outstanding mortgages and sell off land for redevelopment. A plan needing work and compromise? Maybe, but a plan nonetheless. bush's response, FUCK YOU NEW ORLEANS and your Governor needs to come up with a plan?!? And this guy is the hero to "conservatives" in America. He's a fucking idiot

- The Federal Government built the levees that broke
- Billions to humanitarian aide everywhere but in the U. S.

Excellent LTTE:

TO MAKE THE BAKER BILL MORE PALATABLE TO THE PRESIDENT, MAYBE A PROVISION SHOULD BE ADDED TO HAVE HALLIBURTON RECEIVE A BILLION DOLLARS OR SO FOR NO APPARENT REASON.

2. The sad part is that Landrieu and Blanco will take the fall no matter what
and sadly they have already been outmaneuvered.

My guess is that the moment the landed gentry and wealthy contractors knew that NOLA was devastated, they immediately went to the bank to send money to K Street to get the lobbyists geared up for a major "renovation" of NOLA so that it will be rebuilt in the image they have in mind.

So when Landrieu stated she wouldn't filibuster so the senate could get back to work on NOLA and other issues...she is just fooling herself.

Anything Bush will do...it will be for his cronies...and he will only hand out breadcrumbs as long as he gets a photo with some poor folks to make him look good...

4. I wouldn't count Blanco out just yet
She's announced she's running for reelection and whoever chooses to run against her better pack a lunch, especially if they want to use Katrina as an issue. And whomever the "conservatives" come up with better forget having bush come to the state and campaign. I also believe bush's photo opporunities with anybody in New Orleans except the landed gentry are over and done with. bush came to Louisiana to campaign against Blanco during the last election and she spanked him and the little fascist jindal who was running against her. I just can't figure landrieu out!

5. It is just awful to watch at the republicans keep letting more time pass
as they drag their feet and do nothing to get started on making things better for the people who lived there.

Meanwhile our tax money is being poured into the defense departments rathole for the contractors to lap up...

7. What do the folks on the Mississippi coast think of all this?
besides the feeling that they are being forgotten?

8. they're getting 3x the money per capita so how are they forgotten?
if what they are getting is not enough, and from the sound of it, it isn't, it's just that much worse here
