He asked if it could be conducted under the OLD LAW
In fact, during today's press conference, President Bush argued that the FISA law was old and didn't work. He noted that, "I said, 'look, is it possible to conduct this program under the old law?' And people said, 'it doesn't work in order to be able do the job we expect us to do.' So, that's why I made the decision I made."

Is that an outright admission that they could not obey the law and He gave the official word to do it anyway?

2. but why in 2002 did he not back legislation to change FISA?
This guy has more excuses than a 2-year-old for bad behavior.

3. I would like to drive drunk and have sex with a 14-year old.
Can I do that under the "old law"? You know, before it was illegal?

Makes about as much sense.
