.
Are you kidding? The Kennedy Family dynasty has been alive and well for years. There's been a continuing unbroken line of U.S. Senators, U.S. Representatives, president, and other public officials in the family since John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK) became a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts back in the 1950s, and long before that time!
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
Prior to 1950s the family political dynasty line went back in national politics to Ted and JFK's father Joseph P. Kennedy (Sr) as head of FDR's 1934 Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), then he was appointed ambassador to the U.K. in 1937 u/ FDR. And, prior to that the family dynasty goes back to local Boston politics to pre-WW1 when JFK's and Ted's mother Rose Kennedy's father John "Honey Fitz" Fitzpatrick was a member of the Massachusetts state senate and mayor of Boston as well as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives!
Today, not only is the Kennedy Dynasty in public service in politics, but many are also doing other public service in non-profit foundations, e.g., oil-distribution-for-the-poor-in-Massachusetts and lower-priced prescription drugs for seniors in Massachusetts (Joe Kennedy III son of RFK Sr)
Citizen Oil Corporation, and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.'s water conservation and litigation organization,
Natural Resources Defense Council, Riverkeeper and Waterkeeper Alliance as well as a law professor at Pace School of Law re environmental law, and the list goes on and on regarding the public service of the Kennedy Clan.
And, you mentioned that
"RFK's grandson (Joe II's son) Matt Kennedy is Ted Kennedy's campaign manager for his re-election campaign this year. I think this is a good sign for the future of the party as a whole."
Correction: that makes the FIFTH generation in the Kennedy Dynasty, not the fourth. BTW, Robert F. Kennedy's son's name is Joseph P. Kennedy III (not II). The first Joseph P. Kennedy was RFK's, Ted's, and JFK's father. The second Joseph P. Kennedy was the first born son of Joe and Rose Kennedy who was also RFK's, Ted's and JFK's oldest brother. Joe Jr. died in WW2 serving the British Royal Air Force as a pilot before the USA entered WW2. Joe the III is RFK's son. And, as usual Ted Kennedy has once again chosen a member of the family to be his campaign manager. Ted does this to train other Kennedys in public service.
How many generations is it? 1? 2? 3? 4? . . . No, it's
5 generations of Kennedys! Now that's a dynasty in anybody's book!Without question, the winner is the Kennedys who continue to serve us in public service across five generations.
