DIVISA ET IMPERA (Divide and Conquer)

This is what the Bushcorp Cabal has done. They knew that support of the radical right and the fundy Christians wouldn’t be enough to take control of the Country. In recent history the moderate middle class, including both democrats and republicans controlled the Congress and the Country. Bushcorp knew they had to divide and conquer, drive a wedge between moderate democrats and moderate republicans. Bush demanded that we were either for him or against him; either demo or repub, blue or red, Christian or non-Christian, and people started taking sides. The Bushcorp hate propaganda machine (incl Fox News) went to work polarizing the Country. They concentrated on divisive issues. It was all too easy, seems there are lots of people ready to hate. Some of us, me included, have helped with this polarization, talking trash about republicans in general in lieu of concentrating on issues and principles. This just plays into Bushcorp’s plan. It is tempting to be mad at all republicans, because they are to some degree culpable, but this won’t get our Country back. The moderate middle class must unite to over-throw the tyrants. We need to insist that our democratic representatives support democratic values and NOT vote for them if they don’t. Otherwise they take us for granted. They (like Lieberman) think if they call themselves democrats then we will automatically support them. Show them they are wrong.

4. close but no cigar
you're right that bush and co. have used divide and conquer to solidify their power ... and you're right that Americans need to "unite to overthrow the tyrants" ...

but you make a huge mistake when you buy into the myth of a unity only among Democratic and republican "moderates" ... that's the big myth of the third way and it's bullshit ...

unity will not be formed by chopping up the political spectrum into right, center and left any more than it is now ... your approach is just realigning the divisions; not healing them ...

a better approach is to focus on issues rather than political labels ... what all Americans should have in common is a belief in our Constitutionally defined freedoms ... unity among Americans on issues like a right to privacy can be a strong rallying cry to reclaim the democratic vision of the founders ...

the issue you raised is very important ... i just think you need to rethink your solution a little ... democracy should not be a right, center, left kind of issue ...

5. I agree completly. If it didn't come across that way, I didn't do
a good job of writing. I thought the following quote meant that we should concentrate on issues and principles. "Some of us, me included, have helped with this polarization, talking trash about republicans in general in lieu of concentrating on issues and principles."

6. I agree with this opinion...
Bush and Co. have used "divide and conquer" to solidify their power. But why should we compromise with those that know they have chosen the wrong path. We'll welcome them to our side but we should not accept any part of the Republican agenda...

7. Absolutely no compromise. That is my point exactly. However,
when we say any Democrat is better than any Republican (and i am guilty of saying that myself during moments of frustration) we are starting to sound narrow minded. We are compromising our principles. We need to support principles and values and only support those that support these principles and values. I wish someone more articulate could help me out. Supporting democratic candidates that don't strongly support democratic principles is harmful. Some will say lesser of evils, but I say as long as we are willing to support any democratic candidate they will take us for granted. I think the democrats that supported the Bushcorp preemptive war failed the Country. I am sorry, I know that steps on some of your toes. But no one has provided a decent explanation. When Bushcorp was given the power by Congress to go to war, he assumed that he could take complete control of the Country and lead us to tyranny.
