Democrats target 7 states in 2006 Senate races
Charles Schumer, the head of Senate Democrats' campaign efforts, said Tuesday he is focusing on seven states where he believes they can take Republican-held Senate seats in 2006: Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Montana, Tennessee, and Arizona.

"If the stars align right we could actually take back the Senate," Schumer said.

The Senate currently has 55 Republicans, 44 Democrats and one Democratic-voting independent. In 2006, there are five open Senate seats, as well as 14 Democratic senators seeking re-election and 14 Republicans seeking re-election.

Schumer heads the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which had more than $22 million US available, according to their last fundraising report. That's more than double the cash available to their counterparts in the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

6. We did well in 2005 BECAUSE....
...they didn't screw with the voting machines....they didn't need to. It wasn't important enough to risk exposing the fraud...they are at least THAT smart. But you can bet they will in 2006 when everything is on the line. And they will be methodical about it....targeting certain elections...just like they did in 2004. WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!!!!

7. "If the stars align right"
Errr- that's loser language.

How about- if we earn it by standing up to the bullies of the far right and show the American people that we are worthy of majority leadership.

Memo to Shumer: You all ain't going nowhere until the party shuts down its simpering Republican enablers and standimg up for traditional Democratic values again. You can start by blocking the corrupt and unethical Alito. Frame it like that- and even if you "lose" the filibuster, you can show you are serious by backing up Harry Reid's earlier threat to shut down the Senate. Punt on that- and you've all but given up another winning issue.

A majority of citizens in all of those states have had quite enough of the far right's extremism. I think they just don't trust that the Dems have what it takes to lead.

Do you?

Please send that memo to Schumer's offices... Hard Mail, Fax and Telephone it! (nevermind the email - they won't read it)
