The deepest fear of many Republicans is that they might win again...
They know that the "Neo-cons" presently running the government are not "true" Republicans. They have gone along for the ride because it put them in power. But many of them now see what has happened and might happen in the future and are fearful of their own Party.

They sincerely are concerned about the country. But they are divided in their loyalties - their Party or their country? Many, in my opinion, are on the horns of a dilemma. Which way will they go? Will they go for the more "moderate" Republican or a continuation of the "neo-con" nightmare? Will they vote for a John McCain or a George Allen? (Although McCain may not seem like a "moderate" to most of us) Will they reject the religious-right candidate? I think those are the quiet whispers in Republican land.

1. I think they are contemplating another choice too.
Just staying home! I've heard a number of Pub politicos talk about this, and the Party is very concerned. They don't expect them to vote for a Dem, but they are very afraid that they will, or have already, become so disgusted with the current situation they will just stay home in very large numbers.

3. They've got to know that the deficit is going to come back to
bite them big time. Seems to me they'd want to cut and run and leave the mess for the Dems. Then they could blame them for it all.

12. That's what they do - Make a mess and then let the Dems clean it up.
It's in their genes.

4. Pffft! I think you're giving these people way too much credit for a sense
of dignity and integrity that pretty well none of them have.

5. They Need Therapy
Let them work their delusions out themselves. Too many repukes have called me all kinds of things over the last few years for me to give a flying crap what they think anymore.

For years they called us liars, traitors, moonbats, etc..., while the repubs continued to vote for the people you say they don't like now.

Too bad for them, too bad for us but, it is NOT the job of any democrat to try to get votes from traitors.

8. One thing that does have them in a panic
is that they've spent the past few years pandering to the crazies on the far far right and giving the back of their hand to the middle...and now that they're having to scramble back they've burned their bridges. Look at the problems Santorum has in PA, where he's down by double digits. I think the Schiavo mess alienated an awful lot of people who up until then had been indifferent.

Another is that they've got Chimpy tied around their necks like an albatross. They let him hide behind closed doors while they told the world he was the next Churchill, only with a folksy charm and likability. But now that the corrupt drunk has faltered in the polls, the only remedy is to have him explain himself...and when he does viewers don't see the next Churchill but a smirky, twitchy frat boy who is unable to read a speech off a teleprompter.

10. It's important, I think
for Democrats to keep reminding the various groups Republicans have pissed off what they've been up to...

For example, in my district Scott Garrett was one of just 11 Congresspersons to vote against aid for Katrina...and he was no fucking help in getting flood relief money for people in his district this spring when the Delaware flooded. On the Pennsylvania side, people got Federal aid...on the Garrett side in NJ, people waited for months and months.

You bet i'm gonna hit that as hard as I can.

13. I heard on the news W wants to campaign for the '06 candidates
Bring it on! Nothing like few cinder blocks to save a drowning man.

And you're right - the Schiavo circus is going to hurt these crazies real badly. Talk about government getting into places where it doesn't belong...........

Here is what Jeb Bush has to say, they openly admit that they want to do away with government. The scary part is that no one is listening.

Don't take my word for it, here is a snip from Jeb's second 2nd Inaugural Address as posted in freeper land.

Jeb Bush's 2nd Inaugural Address

Snip>And if we are, we can embed in society a sense of caring that makes government less necessary. There would be no greater tribute to our maturity as a society than if we can make these buildings around us empty of workers; silent monuments to the time when government played a larger role than it deserved or could adequately fill.<snip

20. You must remember all politics is local

We can not focus so much on Bush*. He is history anyway. He can not run again but all the other low lifes in every district in America. We must turn our focus on the Republican Party and get off this Bush* kick. There is absolutely nothing we can do about bush* unless we regain Congress and that is almost an impossibility with the way we have allowed the gerrymandering to go on...
