Kudos to Howard Dean! Best ever appearance on Meet the Press!
Dean was hitting on all cylinders--swattind away Russert's repeated attempts to trash the Democratic party--despite Russert's many attempted interruptions. In comparison, Russert interrupted automaton RNC flack Mehlman only once, and made no other attempts to do so.

Dean handled the fundraising question superbly--noting that we are always outraised by the Republicans.

1. I'm just seeing this now, but one thing I noticed in the opening..
Why is nobody coming out against Bush's speech on Friday when he notes that we "can't have people rewriting history on the Iraq war" (paraphrased, of course).

Isn't that what he did when things went from WMD's to "spreading freedom and democracy"? Are Democrats using this line as a rebuttal?

2. Quite often bush** says something so obviously ignorant that it really
doesn't need a lot of refutation. That idiot remark was one of them.

4. What the hell were you watching?
I know we all love to hate Timmy, but he completly destroyed every assertion Mehlman tried to make.

5. Yes, surprisingly, he did, but he did not constantly try to interrupt him.
Interrupting and harrassing Democrats is what Timmy lives for.

6. Did he scream?
He ruined his chance to get elected president with his childish scream speech.

8. He did not scream. He had to speak loudly
to be heard over the wild applause.

9. I'm not a Deaniac and even I won't let that remark go unchallenged
He was in a room full of noicy noicy supporters yelling to be heard by each and every one of them who worked their buns off to help him.

Did the scream ruin it or did the propaganda from the media take it and ruin his reputation.

Personally, I saw no reason why it had to be played every 10 minutes. It' not like he committed murder or something useful to know.

But that was the Republican corporate media eliminating one of their foe.

11. Dean, then and now
Every journalist who was physically present in the room at the time of the so-called "scream" said that it seemed perfectly natural in the context of the time and place. It never occurred to any of them that anything was out of the ordinary until they saw the playbacks on their news programs.

As for Dean's appearance today, I thought it was a knock-out. There will always be those die-hard Bushites who will never acknowledge the truth, but there are millions of Americans who now regret their votes for Bush who will be turned on with someone who stands up to all the propaganda and Newspeak that we have had thrown at us for the past five years. America is screaming for people like Howard Dean, Cindy Sheehan, and Paul Hackett who call a spade a spade, or, more aptly, a pile of shit a pile of shit.:yourock:

10. Oh, do you think the past has anything to do with his current position?
Maybe we need someone to get up and scream in talking point sock puppet Mehlmen's face. He'll become a blithering idiot and would probably shit his pants. Did you see the speech on Can O' Fun where Bishy is drunk? I think being a drunk President is worst than a screaming candidate.

Wouldn't let that asshole Russert phase him. He was particularly good on Alito and the BS that Russert was pulling about supporting the "President's choice". God I hate him.

22. It will be interesting to see if the 9 million dollars the leader of Bongo
paid to see His Holiness Bush ended up in the RNC coffers after a trip to the laundromat. That ought to put a damper on the 'we get more donations than you do' bit. It will take some of the wind out of the nickle and dime donation fable too.

25. Dean has really improved, gave a great performance, and I'm sending
money to the DNC. I didn't support him as a candidate, but I like him as DNC chair, and his sppearance this morning with Timmy was quite good.

24. "I AM a Democrat BECAUSE of my moral beliefs"...Howard Dean
I'm paraphrasing, but that's what Howard said to Tim Russert when Russert showed Howard a poll that said something like 60% of Democrats don't like when their candidates to go around parading for the cause of Christianity. Russert asked Dean if that was a problem for Democrats to be perceived as low on the morality scale, and Dean responded beautifully, I thought with the above quote.

Dean was magnificent today. Not only did he call the Bush administration corrupt, and he actually used the C word, but he also called them hypocrites (and he used the H word itself). On numerous occasions he said this administration is guilty of not being truthful. He implied over and over what liars they are without actually using the L word.

Howard Dean has things under control, and I really think for the first time that Democrats are finally going to unleash their fury on this administration....but when the timing is perfect. They don't want to do it to early. I can see that now.
