John Fund on CNN: "This is a WAR. Casualties are to be EXPECTED."
Fund got into it on Lou Dobbs' show with a panel member who ISN'T a neocon chickenhawk (sorry, don't have the name)...

Fund started laying out the litany of GOP talking points about building up the Iraqi military and such, calling it Bush's "exit strategy," when the other guest LOST it and proclaimed...

"THAT'S NOT HAPPENING!"

Fund GLARED into the camera and said that over the next YEAR we can "make significant progress" and the panel member LOST IT AGAIN...

"MEANWHILE, AMERICAN SOLDIERS WILL KEEP DYING!"

To which Fund replied:

"This is a WAR. Casualties are to be EXPECTED."

Look for tonight's rebroadcast of Lou Dobbs or the transcript on CNN next week:

12. He's also a horndog! He had an inapproriate relationship
with his girlfriend's daughter. I'm assuming that Fund's not in jail because the daughter is of legal age. But it's still icky and everytime I see him on tv, I think of what a hypocrite he is!

2. If it is a stupid war...
then precious lives of brave young people are wasted.

Despostic leaders like Dubya deserve to be strung up
like Il Duce in the public square of justice.

The moralizer who claimed Clinton was a 'sinner' night after night during the nineties, and from the impression I got of him, I doubted he'd ever be in a position to be tempted!

But I was WRONG. As I recall, he got his live-in girl-friend's daughter pregnant!! Then got mad at her, and ordered her to have an abortion!! She recorded the conversation, as I recall. Then, a few months later he was arrested for assaulting her.

COLUMNIST ASSAULTED HIS EX: COPS
By PHILIP MESSING and BRIDGET HARRISON

Troubled Wall Street Journal columnist John Fund was arrested yesterday and charged with assaulting his ex-girlfriend, police said.

Fund, 46, had a stormy relationship with Morgan Pillsbury, the 27-year-old daughter of a former girlfriend, for more than two years before the couple broke up last month, police sources said.

Tuesday, Fund, famous for his attacks on President Bill Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal, allegedly went to Pillsbury's East Village home and bruised her leg during an argument, the sources said.

The arrest caps a bizarre unraveling of the couple's on-again, off-again relationship. Pillsbury told The Post's Page Six last month Fund had been abusive to her, but later attempted to retract the statement.

Do these people think if they hide for a while we will forget their utter and total hypocrisy??

And if he is going to be so cavalier about 'casualties', how about he goes over there? I think it's time for these cowards who are so willing to sacrifice the loved ones of others in wars they support, to be sent there to fight them themselves!

How dare CNN foist this man on us. It is an insult and anything he has to say is of zero value!!

Edited to add link to article and to correct one wrong statement.

5. It was Jeffrey Toobin
...and the discussion was hilarious! John Fund (puke) was dissing the WH for its "liberal" spending. David Gergen was dissing the WH for not following Reagan's example of changing direction in a firestorm. Jeffrey Toobin was speaking the truth about everything. Lou Dobbs got quite mad over Bush. Quite mad!

I'm going to watch the replay if there is one. It was good.

7. It infuriates me!!
I remember him attacking Clinton for having an affair and preaching morals on Fox, MSNBC etc. I added a link to a story about his own 'affairs' ~

I really can't take much more of the MSM. They will protect and cover for the likes of Bush and Fund, while going after any Democrat, repeating every smear concocted by the right!!

That man has no shame. He still has the gall to mention Clinton's name!! How dare they insult their audience this way! I wouldn't consider it any of my business, had he not been such a fierce attacker of the morals of a Democratic President.

I think it's time to start a movement to have that unjust impeachment rescinded and the plotters, Melon Scaiffe et al, brought to justice for the attempted coup d'etat of an elected president by political assassination! Sorry for the angry post, but the sight of that man makes me ill.

14. Well, Fund's strange sexual misconduct has made the rounds
at wingnut sites, I assure you. And I don't recall ever seeing anyone seriously try to contradict the stories about that asshole.

One thing Clinton did do: he helped get several of the House managers thrown out of office.

Before seeking to wipe the impeachment off the books, to me, a higher priority is to jail Bush/Cheney and their cabal.

Surprised to hear David Gergin so critical of the * regime. The handwriting is on the wall. Fund is a typical WSJ shill.

15. According to this administration, flowers were expected.
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 08:08 PM by Sparkly
Being "greeted as liberators" was expected.

A fast little skirmish was expected.

Relatively few troops deployed was expected.

Huge oil revenues and Saddam's treasures to fund the war were expected.

Idiots.

16. This is what war looks like - everyone sacrifices - so that war ends
as fast as possible. And as few civilians & soldiers are hurt as possible. You do not go "shopping" during a war.
