Bush was planning this Iraqi war from before he was sworn in.

From Bob Woodward's book "Bush at War," *, rummy, wolfie ( I think), and others
met in the pentagon situation room prior to his inauguration in Dec. of 2000 to
plan an Iraqi war. (bush got bored and some General gave him his mint.)

The man needs to go to the Hague for war crimes.

1. Which Bush?
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 01:10 PM by LynneSin
Because if it was junior he was just doing what Daddy planned all along when they first pushed Georgie & Jebbie into politics by getting them to run for governor in large states back in 1994.

Think about it, Junior is a frat boy dry drunk who never had to worry about earning a living EVER in his life. Company failed - daddy & his friends bailed him out. Can't get into UTexas Law School - we'll pull strings and get you into Harvard Business School.

Bush wasn't planning anything before he stole the White House in 2000. His Daddy and the PNAC/Carlyle folks had it all planned it for him. Why do you think Daddy's old Secretary of Defense some how ended up as Bush's Vice President

2. I am sure that the PNAC & Carlyle group were helping him but ....
..... HW was on record and in his book as saying that becoming the
ruler of Iraq would be a huge mistake. Cheney as Sec. of defense said
the same thing.

I think * was easily manipulated by the crowd who wanted an Iraqi war
though .... bush thought:
"Daddy kicked Iraqi butt in 3 days .... I bet I can do it too."
He always has been trying to show up Daddy .... sick pud.

Also it wasn't until a week or so before the war that he learned that
their were different sides in Iraq ..... Kurds, Sunni, & Shi ite.

4. And you're going to believe that
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 02:05 PM by LynneSin
Wow, you still searching for the WMDs too aren't you?

Bush Sr wanted Hussein but the UN tied the US hands behind their back by saying that we could not go into Iraq and after Hussein.

Trust me, it's easy to type anything you'd like into a book but that doesn't necessarily make it true

5.  I think bush sr stopped the war on his own and not because of the ....

.... UN. Maybe shortly after he stopped the war but still egged on the
Marsh Arabs & Kurds into rebellion against Saddam and got them
slaughtered he might have wished for another shot. I don't know
if that is true or not.

Although I do know that Gen. Schwartzkopf was pissed when he had
to stop the war when he did. He was just about to wipe out the Republican
guard that was loyal to Saddam and kept him in power.

I also know that the PNAC boys have wanted this God awful war since
1994 or 95 ...... Wolfiwitz's writings and speeches confirm that.

I also believe that Paul O'Neil was telling the truth that maps of Iraqi
oil fields were on Dick Cheney's desk in march of '01.

I am sure that they were more then ready to use 9/11 as an excuse
for the Iraqi war ...... part of me strongly believes that some in the
bush administration knew 9/11 was coming and let it happen.
I will always wonder why the air national guard and the USAF was
conducting war games about hijacked planes that very morning.

Also if you read my post I didn't say before the election in 2000
but before he was sworn in.

Bush is also on record in 1999 or 98 talking about an Iraqi war
when he became president.
