If a vote is 15 minutes...
why are the repugs able to hold it open for hours. I know they are in charge but, why can they do this without penalty. If nothing can be done then you might as well say we don't have a government. I don't care if they are the majority, rules are rules if these were Dems everyone would act like this was the end of the world. The main point is the votes that they pass effect us and these votes are illegal, if they do it,then why should we obey the laws they pass. I've been watching that Stevens from Alaska for a while now, I knew he would do something that would put him in the spotlight again.Stevens threw his little temper tantrum when they threatened to take away his bridge to no where. He said he would resign if he couldn't keep it and they let the little crybaby drunk keep it. Stevens is just like Sensenbrenner I started watching him a few years ago I believe he passed some legislation that had something to do with some bus stops.

1. those in charge can make or change the rules at any time
hate to say it but I'm sure the Dems pulled the same stunt when they were in control

parlimentary rules are very odd and if you know them, you can work them to your advantage at any time

3. IIRC, the longest the dems ever prolonged voting was something
like 20 minutes.

And the repubs screamed about it at the time.
