First ... a few things about the "germs/viruses/etc"
ALL CREATURES HAVE CERTAIN BIOLOGICAL 'ISSUES' THAT ARE INHERENT TO THEIR SPECIES/GROUP/FAMILY/CO-INHABITANTS ETC.
The old sayings are true.. there is a place for everything, and everything should be in its place...
Wild creatures are being squeezed mightily, and they will fight back. they will not disappear without a whimper.
Birds MIGRATE ...Birds need food...Birds need water...
Those three facts mean that birds will do what they have to to get food & water and to migrate.
They have been migrating FOREVER...before there were people and houses and factory farms.. The wild places they used to fly over (and stop at for food, water, rest) are becoming inhabited, and the "local" farm animals and people are now coming into contact with these wild birds..(and their germs)
Every parent of a school child knows that Fall is when YOUR kids bring home all kind of "new germs" from their new classmates, and before long, the whole family has colds. It;s NOT the weather, folks.. It's the sudden exposure to germs that your kids are new to.. The germs from last year's classmates are 'old hat' and you have immunity to them after the first exposure..
By removing the wetlands and overpopulating wild places, we have invited more and more sickness into all our lives..
We cannot build immunity to something fast enough to deal with it, and the weakest among us are at risk.
