Those in power are trying to stop people from thinking (rant)
Edited on Tue Nov-01-05 01:15 PM by chimppyhater
I am retired, but just started a part time job yesterday, as out medical insurance and co-pays amount to around $2000 a month. The salary is nothing ($8.50/hr)and after 90 days, a 80-20 medical policy is paid for by the company...

...anyway, to get to my point, I realized that after about a week of doing this job, even a monkey (well, maybe not W) could do it blinfolded. It seems to me many, if not most jobs today are this way. A person can learn it vey quickly, and soon almost becomes a robot. No thinking is required.

After a while, people actually start to like the idea of not having to think, and actually get paid for it.

Until things change, and people actually become required to think in order to make a living, how can we expect people to actaully spend time thinking about the consiqueses of not doing so, and winding up with a self-absorbed, nutcase fascist running our government?

Thanks for allowing me to rant...

I'm 58 years old and still capable of doing it; although it is mind numbing. There are thousands who aren't, and like my wife and I, are not old enough to get medicare.
