Tom Tomorrow nails it
this is an excellent educational tool for explaining the Judy Miller situation to those with time to watch bikini clad babes eat worms on tv, but no time to pay attention to current events...

5. I agree, he has a knack for taking something relatively complex
and distilling it down to a few frames. This is also an excellent strip for people who don't know better to see why the corporate media is not to be blindly trusted.

9. Recruit Tom Tomorrow for Dem advertisements in 2006
Seriously - let him write radio and TV ads, showcase his cartoons in newspapers for candidates. He's so witty and clever; his knack at nailing the heart of the issue is unsurpassed!

11. I forget who made the point
But it was terrific: By protecting their sources, a publication is basically substituting its own voice and veracity for that of their source. Panels 4 and 5 put this on the line perfectly. Instead of being able to listen to the source for some outrageous bit of hooey and making a determination for ourselves, the publication (in this case, The Holy New York Times) puts its own reputation on the line: You can believe this hooey because we print it!

And now poor Judy whines about how her reporting is only as good as her sources, and who could have possibly figured out that her sources were lying to her? Don't blame me!

13. Secretive R's administration compartmentalizes the truth
in a series of boxes. Blowback, however, cannot be restrained as the disinfectant light of truth eventually exposes all illegalities.

Operation Chaos, Operation Mockingbird, CIA's promoting of candidates IT supports monetarily (see Strange Case of BCCI
www.the-catbird-seat.net/BCCI.htm and pay special attention to who was receiving money from BCCI and overseas with Worthen Bank -- bipartisan btw )

When the agency and its sisters do domestic jobs violating their own charter...bad things happen.

proof of their veracity."
