I'm never watching Chris Mathews again
He turned into a O'Lielly - shouting down his guests. What's the purpose of having a guest if he doesn't give him a chance to respond? Asking John Edwards repeatedly: is your party pro-choice? John Edwards try to say: my party is for families to decide and to keep government out of familiy business - WHY CAN'T Mathews gettit?

On edit: I thought Dean handled it very well.

in your post.

Welcome to DU, Christa!

I would be screaming, too, but I stopped doing that to myself on Nov 6, 2002..no more tv news for me.

I appreciate those who can stomach it though, so we can know what the enemy is up to.

2. KKKKarl is back in business

They have all received the Memo and they are marching with KKK.

Have you noticed, all the wimp journalists that were brave for 3 weeks are now under Rove spell.

11. I wish Dean would have yelled at him.
Matthews is rude and abusive on issues and people he wants to destroy.

Time to get a clip to show the world the difference between how he interviews the right and how he interviews the left.

Tweety looked like what he is--a belligerant partisan hack. He lost.

Watching Hairball is like sticking knitting needles in your eyes. It hurts and there's just no reason to do it.

6. Matthews is against abortion. He did the same thing to Patricia
Ireland. This is the one issue that makes him abuse his position so it can align itself with more conservatives.

I will be so pleased the day that Matthews gets Novaked and loses his show.

28. His wife is just great with the birth control then...She never misses a
pill and how many kids does he have? He thinks it will stop with abortion?

Oh well...the Tweety's will always have access to the finest birth control...and if it becomes necessary for a "termination," they always have those "docs that cater to that sort of thing." He never has to worry about a thing..

7. Matthews is all spittle and mouth. Not watching him is a
very understandable response.

However, I think you have to watch these assholes occasionally, just to understand how the news is being prismed through them to the American people.

Personally, if I want to understand anything I try to read a lot, follow some of the blogs, listen to NPR, and watch PBS and C-Span.
I don't need an insipid fool like Matthews to filter my facts.

15. Hardball is at its best when Mathews is not there and Gregory is
The original concept of Hardball was great - a show that asked the hardest questions of both the right and the left. But that concept requires a host who is able to leave his ego and identity at the door, which Mathews is clearly unable to do. The biggest problem in any interview show is when the host blathers on too much about their own opinion which is what Mathews does night after night after night. We want someone to ask the hard questions of credible guests and then just stand back. Again, watch David Gregory who does this with grace and humor. Get rid of Mathews!!!

And anyone that easily controled is not worth watching. I rather watch my Roomba. It has more freedom of action and thought.

20. He used to be an interesting commentator
and actually lived up to the "hardball" slogan -
meaning he didn't let anyone get away with any BS.

I guess he must be getting lazy (or he's on the take)

Yeah... i've lost all respect for Tweety.
No integrity or balls.

25. Not all democrats are pro choice.
Only repuks are without brains and fall in line. I think that Chris Matthews was outed by timmy. He was the one that libby complained about. Put him in the dog house. That is why he is trying to look tough.

Dean and Dean is trying to reframe the abortion issue as we're for privacy..

7. Disagree. Dean was right.
They use "pro choice" as a club to hit us over the head and infer that we are all "pro abortion" baby killers.

The issue is about privacy rights.

Republicans are for government making laws about private family medical decisions.

Democrats are against government making laws about private family medical decisions."

30. I wish they'd just quit being so afraid of the GOP and say
Yes, we are in favor of personal choice. It's canned answers like the one given that promote the appearance of shady lawyerism. Just answer, without reframing - it'll be sooo refreshing.
