Help needed for republican talking points quote
Does anyone remember the talking points memo that went out telling the repukes "not to think on-air" when they're on TV - as they'd be engaged in a discussion they probably would not win.
I'm writing a letter to Bill Maher explaining their M.O. for when on programs like his - and that's why they always dominate the discussion like last night with Tony Snow.
Snow came out with so many lies I lost count, but the egregious one in my mind was when he said Iraqi girls had not been allowed to go to school under Sadaam - Iraqi women are in danger of losing all the rights they had - which were much more than most Arab women - because of his little hero, the chimp.
Snow was obviously winging it but I'm sick to death of them coming on Maher's show and getting away with this crap. :grr:

5. When he turns to the crowd, with that little smirk, and says...
very dramatically, "Ohhh stop it" is hardly a reprimand. He's a comedian by trade, and that's funny. At least it is to me. If anything, he's egging them on because he only does it at times when he knows he slammed his guest.

7. No, you need to see some of the other shows...
he actually means "stop, I want more conservatives to come on the show, so we need to play nice-nice". That is fine, but do not get harsh with the liberals that brung ya!

2. I can't believe they get away with statements like the one about Iraqi
girls. That is such bullshit.

3. Pre 1991 Iraq was very secular and very western
They called Baghdad the "Hollywood of the Middle East" because it was so western. Women had careers, went to school, some of the finest colleges in the region were in Iraq. Tony Snow, like his comrades, just make up shit.

6. Did I imagine this memo?
I'm sure one went around to repukes going on TV to "don't think on-air".
Anyone remember this?
