Poll question: Do you like to torture freeper types on other boards?

I'm currently getting into it with a mindless Limbot at another board. It's so easy to cut them down with the facts that I kind of feel like I'm shooting fish in a barrel. He claims Joe Wilson is a liar, lol. I feel like I should pick on someone with my own intellect. It's just so funny jumping their shit and showing them up for fools. A guilty pleasure.

What about you? Do you like to torture small stupid republican animals that don't know any better? Does their ignorance bring out the worst in you? Do you enjoy rubbing their noses in the cold hard facts that their propaganda masters have omitted from their daily broadcasts? Do you feel a heady draught of schadenfreude when you show them up for the hapless, uninformed fools that they are?

I sure the fuck do. And it's doubly pleasant when you can do it while staying within the board rules for civil discourse. I must admit, I'm a snarky bastard when I'm feeling righteous. :)

(I say 'on other boards' because freeps rarely last long around here.)

research's and makes his own spins on everything from welfare queens to the big 3 going under is a change for the better. He also thinks Wal-mart and doing business with china makes america a better stronger force in the world. For someone that calls himself libertarain, he has more Conservative garbage coming out of his mouth then freepers. He is also a self made man, what ever that means, I usually take that as ''I got my job because my daddy knows people in high places''. He is very handy at dealing with the religious righteous, but out side of that he believes that people aren't born poor they chose to be poor.

Politics is the primary topic there, and the mods are right-wing nuts who often advance right-wing talking points without any proof, and without any challenges. In fact, the person I've been chewing on is one of the mods. I'm quite unimpressed with his mod status. He can't back up his claims that Joe Wilson is a proven liar. I've called bullshit, and he's yet to respond. They've locked me before, so I won't be surprised if that's what happens.

I am doubly-cursed with a a heart condition and a tendency for excitability. Whenever I get into a smallish board with a political section, the RWers rhetorical techniques get my heart rate up and my heart starts skipping beats....I don't like it one bit.

Too bad because in my earler years, that racing heart would pump just enough oxygen to my brain to think of doosies and conversation-enders. Now the excitement scares the crap out of me.

Also, I have decided that RWers do not wish to engage in civil discourse. What they think is civil discourse is still the same rhetorical techniques of putting words into another's mouth, gloating, emotionalism, false dichotomies, tautologies, and other forms of intelligence insults. I'd rather argue with a differently-minded independent than these brain-washed ditto-heads.

Is I don't care. I have NO emotional investment in these fuck head freeps.I am detached from it I have decided what they think or say is nothing..I ain't there to be a "liberal example" or a hero.They are gonna be dumb as a box of rocks no matter what I say anyways.The ones with a bully streak when they are bruised and bleeding will respect me simply because I humiliated the living shit out of them in front of their suck up crew and no flame they could pound out with 14 grammar mistakes and 20 typos got to me( it's because I decided I don't care what they say or think).So,I am not there to "win" or "lose" or anything else. I am there just too irritate the fuck outta them and amuse myself with those strange noises they make, or to let out anger of my own about different things that have nothing to do with them and egg them on to ruin at their expense.I simply do not care about aggressive freeps and what they might think of me as a person or as a "liberal".They are like mosquitoes or flies,I chase them around the house(because they are irritating biting bugs and fun to torment ) just to swat them down and to see that buggy smear as I scrape them off the wall..and toss them into the trash can as their buddies get real quiet and slink away hoping they will not be next..It gets repetitive but if you set it up right the fall is so amusing and predictable. Just observe them like a bacterial specimen under a microscope and get to know your prey before you wreck havoc in their little lives.

on a board I used to visit. There was this one guy that immediately assaulted and bullied newbies with dissenting views by labeling them a liberal. Then he would proceed to go on a tangent making a bunch of retarded, backward ass stereotyped comments.

Apparently he was in the habit of listening to Rush and then coming back with all of Limbaugh's talking points.

I got so sick of it, I left--stopped posting to that board altogether.

You could have put a guy like that in his place quite well, I think.

I just take his rudeness as compliments about how wonderful I am. Bully boys like that can't STAND that because they gotta find SOMETHING to smear me on and if everything they say is cute clever flattering and funny,than they can't get what they want from me.. After the bully found out he could not piss me off at all and got it that I didn't care what he thought_at all_ ,I would begin to only respond in a CIVIL discussion with people that wanted and demonstrated they were capable of CIVIL discussion.All rude replies,and unwanted bullshit is ignored like it was never even written.Trolls hate being ignored.Meanwhile I talk of the rude people in a way(with unconnected posts) that does not tie in their identity directly .I implicate them in the most in disparaging terms and I give them no replies to their replies,to me. The posts just sit there as the trolls fume into a void and look stupid yelling at themselves.I contribute some really deep thinking or some thought provoking something that gets the thinkers who were previously suppressed intriqued..It drives the bullies(who contribute nothing but insults and quips) crazy because I outdo them intellectually and in every other way.

Remember it is the clinging over controlling popularity seeker bully who has a fake rep and image to maintain, Since I don't care what my rep is to anyone online looks like. If they think I am crazy,well I am,if I am a loser well in some peoples eyes I am and guess what.. SO? BFD..wow.. an asstroll thinks I am a crazy loser whoop de doo.Well I think he's an asshole and because he is an asshole I have chosen to decide I don't care what he thinks that means I have nothing to defend when he attacks me..But he will never admit it but I know he cares what *I* think about him..his status among his peers depends on his image in their eyes. My image? I don't care what it is like to others *I*don't care for..

However it is important to know thyself and thy own buttons. I avoid getting online in a hostile places if I feel vulnerable because of MY own issues. That is why I do not bother with the DU lounge often. I feel there are too many assholes and sexists mixed in with decent folks over on there. DU has much better groups,more devoted to honest engaging human interactions than the lounge is. So I go into those places because I care about my relationship to some good people at DU.Most of DU matters to me because of the higher numbers of good non predatory don dominating insecure people here.

In three months time or less after I appear on most in troll outfits and idiot infested boards the troll types usually give up and leave the board quietly because they see they are wasting their own status and making an ass of themselves,or they have such a temper tantrum (which is ignored by me sometimes I read it for laughs) After the meltdown the people on the board sometimes turn on the bully and humiliate him for me because I seem so reasonable,formidable..and charismatic and all.
It's all about relationship dynamics and observation and knowing yourself and your own limits and buttons and choosing to not let the trolls touch you,by basically dehumanizing the de-humanizers..

For example, the board I spoke of before--just today, I saw one of the main bullies having a major meltdown. Every other thing he was posting was getting deleted--and he was getting warnings by a mod about profanity! :rofl: It seems by barely even acknowledging him and his usual m-o, they were totally getting under this guy's skin. It was very funny!!

I've got a question for you. How is it that these people have SO MUCH time for to spend on the internet? I know you don't know--I'm just interested in your theories.

When you look at the posting patterns of some of these guys, it seems that is all they do--is troll internet boards, wreaking havoc and bullying others that don't share their beliefs.

I see guys go on and on about being tax payers--blah, blah, they don't want their money going to social this or that--I don't see how they could even work, given all the time they are on-line talkin' shit to people, you know? Or is it just me?

I feel a lot better about myself after I've opened someone's eyes. A good conversation will usually leave both sides changed. Also, we could use all the informed, aware Americans that we can get! The stakes are too high for such games as torture the freeps.

Also, embarassing people is not in my nature. It makes me feel petty more than anything. But give me a chance to convert someone from the dark side, and I'm all over that.
