Check this out from the DSCC >>

Senate Democrats Continues 2-to-1 Cash on Hand Advantage Over Senate GOP

Continuing its cash-on-hand advantage over its Republican counterpart, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has $19 million in its coffers at the end of the third quarter of 2005, while the National Republican Senatorial Committee carries only $9.4 million. The DSCC brought in about $8.8 million this quarter while the NRSC pulled in $7.3 million. The DSCC has enjoyed a nearly 2-to-1 cash on hand advantage over its Republican counterpart for the better part of this election cycle.

The DSCC continues to carry more money in the bank than its Republican counterpart. The DSCC brought in about $8.8 million in total receipts, ending the summer quarter with $19 million in the bank. The NRSC only has $9.4 million cash-on-hand and raised $7.3 million in the third quarter ending on September 30, 2005. The DSCC has been outperforming the NRSC all year on fundraising.

...

DSCC Third Quarter Fundraising Remains Strong

The DSCC has raised a total of $32 million year-to-date and has been debt-free all year as it enters 2006 with great energy. The DSCC’s strong fundraising effort set the stage for the 2006 elections as the DSCC works to get out the Democratic message and support candidates.

2. Then they waste it by putting Dems against Dems in primaires.
Hackett vs. Brown.

Both good guys. Don't want either one to lose. But the DSCC convinced Brown to change his mind about not running. Pshaw!!!!

Cash-on-hand advantage is due to the fact that the DSCC is doing a better job of managing the money, less administrative costs, less overhead costs things like that. I also have to say that were going to need the extra money. Almost all of our best pickup opprtunities: PA, RI, Ohio, Arizona, Montana, Missouri our candidates are running against incumbents so while our candidates have been raising money for a few months at most the incumbents have been raising money for about 5 years or more.

6. The "rubber stamp" incumbent Repubs must lose
Someone suggested that rubber stamp was a good meme for the campaigns, since for the last 5 years, Repubs have almost always voted wit da shrub.

8. Vastly over-rated
What will they spend it on? TV ads? In my opinion, TV ads cannot compete with the talking heads and the "free" coverage of the right-wingers on cable television. There's not enough money in the world. There has to be another way.
