I don't give a damn if they exist anymore, I said IF. The black panthers of the past may not, but the new Black Panthers were at the MMM how about them ?

tasteblind said nothing wrong. Your original post is bizarre. Are they marching through your neighborhood? Are you watching the history channel? Are you hoping that the Black Panthers will march again? Are you seeing this in your dreams? You're original post doesn't make sense.

7. I don't think
they'd even be given a permit. But if they were allowed to march, they would be greeted with hostility and if violence occurred, would be blamed for it.

Cause that's what not what they were about....They were about protecting minority communities, not enciting hate by marching in White communities.

I'm from the East-Bay, so I know.



In October of 1966, in Oakland California, Huey Newton and Bobby Seale founded the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. The Panthers practiced militant self-defense of minority communities against the U.S. government, and fought to establish revolutionary socialism through mass organizing and community based programs. The party was one of the first organizations in U.S. history to militantly struggle for ethnic minority and working class emancipation a party whose agenda was the revolutionary establishment of real economic, social, and political equality across gender and color lines.

Point 10 of a 10 point plan:
We Want Land, Bread, Housing, Education, Clothing, Justice And Peace.

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and nature's God entitle them, a decent respect of the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That, to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; that, whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and, accordingly, all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But, when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

Black Panther Theory: The practices of the late Malcolm X were deeply rooted in the theoretical foundations of the Black Panther Party. Malcolm had represented both a militant revolutionary, with the dignity and self-respect to stand up and fight to win equality for all oppressed minorities; while also being an outstanding role model, someone who sought to bring about positive social services; something the Black Panthers would take to new heights. The Panthers followed Malcolm's belief of international working class unity across the spectrum of color and gender, and thus united with various minority and white revolutionary groups. From the tenets of Maoism they set the role of their Party as the vanguard of the revolution and worked to establish a united front, while from Marxism they addressed the capitalist economic system, embraced the theory of dialectical materialism, and represented the need for all workers to forcefully take over the means of production.

Now the FBI campaign to murder everybody in the movement as well as those involved in AIM is something I do have problem with.

I'm not sure how many white people were lynched by the Black Panther Party or their ideological ancestors but I'm willing to bet it wasn't nearly as many African Americans who were lynched by the KKK and other White Supremacists.

The orignal post was a hypothetical question, right? As in,"What do you think would happen if the Black Panthers marched in a white neighborhood?"

The ensuing discussion seemed to equate this hypothetical situation with the one that happened in Toledo. That's how I took it anyway.
