A New Tidbit on the Plame Affair
by
Larry C. Johnson

Had lunch today with a person who has a direct tie to one of the folks facing indictment in the Plame affair. There are 22 files that Fitzgerald is looking at for potential indictment . These include Stephen Hadley, Karl Rove, Lewis Libby, Dick Cheney, and Mary Matalin (there are others of course). Hadley has told friends he expects to be indicted. No wonder folks are nervous at the White House.

7. I was thinking he might appt. Harriet, his "work wife" VP.
That would solve TWO problems.
:puke:

10. Since Condi lied under oath during Conf. Hrg. on several questions...

I don't think she's a wise choice for VP, nor is she "out of the indictment woods" by any means. Wasn't she also on Air Force One during that memo discussion? Or at least had access to that memo?

Fact is, nearly all the "succession of Power" (such as Frist, DeLay, Abramoff)...already have criminal charges pending, I see NO influential Repug as a credible replacement for Darth or Chimp (should they be indicted).

Actually, the only viable replacments seem to be Dem's who REALLY won the '00 and '04 election. Make way for Gore and Kerry in that Rose Garden any day now! Bwahhh!

12. I don't think Abramoff was ever in the official line of succession.
;-) But I definitely agree with your point about the line of succession. The bench is being cleared by this brawl, and we're likely to end up with a caretaker administration headed by the Senate's Chief Janitor or somebody like that. This will clear the way for a quiet (whimpering) transition of power back to its rightful owners: the Dems.

Abramoff is interesting in himself. His scandal is going to make Traitorgate look like child's play. He links the whole Republican kleptocracy to the Mafia. It's going to suck to be a Republican when the Abramoff case really blows open.

3. It's going to be bright orange day at the White House.
And a bright day for America when the indictments some in. I think Fitz will do it on Halloween to maximize the time available for investigation, analysis, and drafting of indictments. With such a target-rich environment, it just takes a lot of time to get it all done.

11. No worry. I think Fitz is aiming for Halloween.
Hopefully there will be a lull in the hurricanes at that point. There has to be; they're running out of alphabet for hurricane names! ;-)

6. I want to hear Carville's spin if Mary gets indicted
Yeah, it's mean and petty of me, but I just want to hear it. If he can countenance her having a part of this, he's of no use to anyone.

9. "Hadley has told friends he expects to be indicted"

From http://www.whitehouse.gov/nsc/hadleybio.html

"During President George W. Bush's first term, Mr. Hadley served as the Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor."

Missed them 9/11 clues, too, huh?

"Mr. Hadley previously served in a variety of other capacities in the defense and national security field, including serving from 1986-1987 as Counsel to the Special Review Board established by President Reagan to inquire into U.S. arms sales to Iran (the "Tower Commission")..."

Been a lying scumbag for many years!

I notice absolutely no military service mentioned in this chickenhawk's biography. :eyes:
