Yet another very convenient news distraction?
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 09:07 AM by TechBear_Seattle
I find it odd that the Saddam Hussein trial would begin the day that the lead investigator in "Plame-gate" has scheduled a major news conference. And why did the trial officially start today in Iraq, then adjourn until November 23, the day before Thanksgiving and (still another coincidence?) the day most states will be certifying the results of the November election?

Edit: Sorry about that; it seems I was in error about Fitzgerald doing a news conference today. (Thought I heard about it last night on CNN, but nothing on their website about such a thing.)

Still, with the investigation closing next week and the media speculation on how many White House insiders are being investigated, the one-day wonder of the official opening of the Hussein trial strikes me as suspicious.

Further edit: Arg! Not my day. The Hussein trial is postponed until November 28. Damn dyslexia.

4. Heard about it last night on CNN (?)
I think it was CNN. The news was that Fitzgerald had planned a major news conference for today, in DC. It was pointed out that he would not be calling a major news conference if he was only going to say, "Nothing yet." I don't have names, sorry; I was flipping channels and caught just the tail end of an interview.

I can't find any news of this online, though. It wouldn't be the first time I heard one thing and optimism turned it in to something else. :eyes:
