It would have been nice had GM, as an industrial leader
would spearheaded the changes in our health care system, to promote for universal health care, instead of just "slashing" the benefits for its retirees http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=1855139

And if GM could lead, many would join.

Is GM a major GOP contributor? And what does it get in return?

1. How 'bout GM's decision to continue to focus on SUV's...
...with the price of gas as variable (euphemistically) as it is!

2. I don't think they'd want to put themselves in a position to be a

lightnig rod on an issue like that. And really I don't blame them.

3. It's possible that the GM executives thought >>>>
"You know, as long as the Republicans are in power, it's just going to be a long and expensive battle trying to get Universal Health Care....Why in the hell should we waste our Money, Resources and time?"

You know..I kinda agree with them...Repugs like the system just the way it is..Fucked Up....

4. I wonder how the GM employees and retirees voted
and, no, I don't take it for granted that just because they are union they would automatically vote blue.

5. they would love universal health care
it doesn`t bother them in all the other countries they build cars in that have uni health care. they would save alot of money per unit if they didn`t have to pay health care. if i had to buy my insurance it would be 12 thousand a year ,i don`t know what my company pays but i pay almost 2 thousand dollars a year thru payroll deduction.
the united states will never get uni health care in my life time
