Quite a bit, actually, and none of it real good for Libby.
1. Judy Miller doesn't seem to be the mysterious reporter source as speculated. Too bad for Mr. "I heard it first from a Reporter" Rove.
**This tired excuse is looking like a dead end for the defense.
2. Both Judith Miller & her (first) lawyer Abrams sure thought that Libby did NOT want her to testify because of fear that she would contradict Libby's testimony.
**Smells like obstruction in the morning.
3. Even Ms. Miller was surprised about Scooter's "Aspen" letter because it seeemed to be trying to guide her testimony, bascially instructing her to say that Ms. Plame's identity had not been discussed. But, according to Miller, "my notes suggested that we had discussed her job". The letter also seems to be telling Miller to limit her testimony to the two July conversations and don't mention the June one because, as we found out last week, Scooter sure didn't 'fess up to any June conversation.
**A little more obstruction because we just don't have enough yet, plus a hefty double dose of perjury.
4. Libby was already slamming Joe Wilson on June 23rd, two weeks BEFORE Wilson's Op Ed piece was published. This buries the "we were just setting the record straight in response to Wilson's OpEd piece" excuse.
**Ahh, a door into criminal conspiracy.
5. On June 23rd, "Mr. Libby raised the subject of Mr. Wilson's wife for the first time" and that she worked at the CIA in a "particular bureau within the agency that dealt with the spread of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons". So Scooter had some intel on "Wilson's wife" two weeks BEFORE the classified state department memo was circulated on Airforce One.
**The conspiracy door opens wider and a big old question: just where DID the intel on "Wilson's wife" come from?
Personally, I think Fitzgerald already knows the answer to that...
