O'Reilly: "Far left element a destructive force that must be confronted"
A National Disgrace...
Friday, September 30, 2005
By Bill O'Reilly

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,170889,00.html

At the behest of the ACLU (search), federal judge Alvin Hellerstein (search) has ordered the government to release more pictures of the Abu Ghraib abuse. This, despite the fact that General Richard Myers (search), chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Hellerstein that the pictures would put U.S. military personnel in even more danger. And the general told us there's nothing new in those pictures.

At first, Hellerstein gave lip service to Myers, saying the general's concerns had to be taken seriously. But today, the judge rejected the safety of the troops saying, "Terrorists do not need pretexts for their barbarism."

Apparently, Hellerstein missed the Newsweek (search) Koran debacle, where 15 people were killed immediately after a bogus report by that publication, inciting impulsive violence is done on a case-by-case basis. Now I'm so angry at Hellerstein's ruling, I cannot even describe it. First of all, I apologize to everybody American soldier all over the world on behalf of the vast majority of Americans who don't agree with Hellerstein and the ACLU. Unfortunately, America is a divided country and there are elements in it like the ACLU, who will put soldiers in jeopardy for ideological reasons.

The far left element in America is a destructive force that must be confronted when it puts Americans in danger. There's no question Hellerstein has aided the terrorists by his ruling. No question at all. They can't wait to get these pictures. The BBC, CBC, French media, and many American newsrooms also can't wait. Why? Because the pictures will hurt the Bush administration. That's why. Once again, ideology trumps the safety of Americans.

7. "Put soldiers in jeopardy for ideological reasons"
So, where are those weapons of mass destruction, Falafel boy? How many soldiers can you definitively state died due to the Koran-flushing story (which, by the way, turned out to be more or less true)? Ten? Five? Fewer?

I'll put whatever number you ascribe to that up against the other more than 1,900 in Iraq and however many hundred in Afghanistan that are directly attributable to a corrupt and out-of-control administration that thinks nothing of calling out the military to fight and die for its own aggrandizement any day of the week.

And the cheerleaders for this administration, with their fake outrage over allowing the American people to see what their tax dollars have paid for in Iraq, should be on the next transport to Iraq to fight this little battle that they're profiting so handsomely from.

8. Do we know if the people who condoned the behavior
shown on these new photos have been tried and punished for their crimes? I haven't heard of one court martial being conducted as a result of these new photos. Seems to me that the only way to get justice for the victims is to show the photos and then try the perpetrators-and those who ordered them to do what they did.

10. Did O'Reilly utter as much as a peep to condemn the torture itself?
I thought not.

he's worried about our image, while true US patriots are worried about the corruption of the American soul via BushCo Systematic and Widespread torture -- including children and women.

O'Reilly was a pompous blowhard back in college, and he has only deteriorated.

He is afraid that pics showing him in the act of personally sexually torturing prisoners are about to surface this time.

Pentagon Details Abuse Of Koran
Detainees' Holy Books Were Kicked, Got Wet

By Josh White and Dan Eggen
Washington Post Staff Writers
Saturday, June 4, 2005; Page A01

The U.S. military released new details yesterday about five confirmed cases of U.S. personnel mishandling the Koran at the prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, acknowledging that soldiers and interrogators kicked the Muslim holy book, got copies wet, stood on a Koran during an interrogation and inadvertently sprayed urine on another copy.

I don't care what Meyers says we don't live work and eat for the military it is a seperate part of the government and our Constitutional structure. What they say has no greater weight than any other opinion in fact it has less because (brace yourself) they work FOR US!! Not that they are second class citizens (medical experimentation aside) but they aren't FIRST CLASS citizens either.

19. Bloviating, obfuscating lying liar
Why does he pretend to care that "15 people were killed immediately" (apparently Muslims, apparently able to read English news magazines), but doesn't seem to give a crap about the thousands of innocent Iraqis we (and the insurgents) have killed?

I watched part of his show last night, and hoped for a few minutes that this would be the episode where his head explodes on-camera, like in that movie "Scanners". Stay tuned, he's gonna have a fuckin stroke on air pretty damned soon.

21. It's not the pictures putting Americans in danger.
It's the actions, and the political and military leaders who condoned and encouraged those actions. As long as they're allowed to get away with those policies with no accountability, Americans will continue to be put in danger.

Bill O'Reilly is an anti-American traitor who hates our soldiers and hates our freedoms.

29. hah! you should have heard 'savage country' on monday.
apparently, Cindy Sheehan, Answer, and the peace movement are backed by the.....are you ready for this....really....i'm not making it up.....soviet union. savage had some kind of "student of the left" on his show trumpeting this tripe.

yessiree. even though raygun shook his mighty fist and thundered the words: "Mr. Gorbechev, tear down that wall" and the lowly godless communists wet their pants and the soviet union fell apart instantaneously - the soviets are alive and well and behind the peace movement. apparently, they/we are also going to make eveyone go to a gulag, too.

anywho, savage and his call-in had a little chat about soviets backing our peace movement.

just thought i would share that with everyone.

26. Does O'Reilly think?
That the Iraqi's that were "posed" in the photographs were automatons with no voice, with no family? Does he honestly think that Iraqi's are not aware of the atrocities that the US forces perpetrate?

NEWSFLASH - THEY ALREADY KNOW. And if the Iraqi's know - then so do the terrorists. It is Americans that are naively blind. So - I just do not buy that reasoning.....releasing the photo's would endanger the troops. It is bull. US troops have already released many many grisly photo's onto the internet.

asshole that if the pictures didn't exist - if nothing untoward happened at Abu Ghraib to begin with - this wouldn't even be an issue. The people who ordered that shit and those who carried it out ought to be the focus of O'Reilly's anger.

"Terrorists do not need pretexts for their barbarism" applies as much to the Abu Ghraib torturers as it does to anyone who would commit a terrorist act.
