Addressing a caller's suggestion that the "lost revenue from the people who have been aborted in the last 30 years" would be enough to preserve Social Security's solvency, radio host and former Reagan administration Secretary of Education Bill Bennett dismissed such "far-reaching, extensive extrapolations" by declaring that if "you wanted to reduce crime ... if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down." Bennett conceded that aborting all African-American babies "would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do," then added again, "but the crime rate would go down."

Fact is I think that the abortion issues & crime is more tied up in "Woman who find themselves pregnant and do not want anything to do with the father"..may have figured out the father is an asshole or a sociopath. That is likely why the crime rate goes down with abortion. Evolutionary strategy for the sociopaths is to impregnate and not be invested emotionally. Sociopaths are well distributed amongst all populations. If Ted Bundy's mother could have had access to an abortion when she was single and pregnant and alone.. think of all the trouble & crime that would have saved the world. As it was - she found someone else to marry and for that baby to have a name. And the rest is history. Sociopaths are equally distributed across all population in America. I would guess that this is the most significant reason why crime rates go down with the legalization of abortion. Cause some sociopathy is inherited.
