Governor Dean has it right: "We have to show up in every state, in every election, in every community... not just in 18 of 50 states, and not just in blue areas."

Know what? That strategy works. Just look at Ohio. The grassroots uprising we helped lead this summer nearly elected Paul Hackett to Congress. In just three weeks, we rocked the GOP in one of its safest districts. We proved that by fighting hard -- rather than taking defeat for granted -- we can put Republicans on the run everywhere.

Now take that idea and imagine what we can do -- how many progressives we can elect -- if we start a year in advance. That's why we're taking this strategy national, starting right now. From today through Saturday, help us find the first-ever DFA Grassroots All-Star candidate for Congress:

http://www.democracyforamerica.com/housevote

Here's the deal: we want you to nominate your local grassroots hero -- the progressive with the fighting spirit it takes to campaign against, and beat, a Republican running for Congress. On the DFA site, you can track the votes, and round up friends and neighbors to support your candidate.

When we work together, we make an unstoppable team. The grassroots discovered Paul Hackett. Together we supported him, funded him -- and almost pulled off a huge upset.

Candidates like Paul -- with enormous political talent -- exist all over the country. They can have a huge impact in 2006. But we have to find them -- and back them up.

By next Tuesday, we'll work down to the top ten choices from everyone's input, and kick-off the final round. Does someone from your neck of the woods have what it takes to be the DFA Grassroots All-Star candidate? Make your voice heard -- vote now:

Thank you,
Chris Warshaw
