1. The comment I will post.
Dear Congressman Conyers,

I have been writing my Representative, and my Senators none of which represent me because for years now they have been representing big business and corporate greed instead of my concerns; yet I wrote them anyway to tell them I am disgusted with the colossal failure of my Federal Government to respond immediately to the victims of Katrina. It's appalling that this administration that brags so about "keeping us safer here at home" has failed us in this time of disaster. Yes, it was a "Natural disaster" but it was made worse by the "man-made disaster" of a response. I understand that the Federal Government is trying to shift the blame to the state and local officials...this is UNACCEPTABLE. I know that FEMA was dismantled by this administration. I know that the levee projects were not adequately funded. I cannot believe that my Federal Government, in the United States of America has disgraced us all and endangered us all with this gross negligence. I would like the focus to remain on this disaster. Everyone, especially government officials should be focused on this problem until this disaster is taken care of. It will take weeks, if not months, during this time I don't want to hear about Supreme Court nominees, or anything else! I don't want to go on with "business as usual" while Americans (NOT REFUGEES) are suffering!
