Feds trying to take over NOLA to cover up criminal incompetence?
Washington Post mentioned it in front page article today, and just now on Meet the Press, the President of Jefferson Parrish spoke about how FEMA cut emergency phone lines. Plus, Chertoff talking about how army is "in charge".

This worries me greatly on all kinds of levels. Or am I channeling tinfoil?

1. I've never been more tinfoil-y.
But you gotta wonder - what do they think they're going to accomplish? These people - with stories intact - are a new Diaspora across the US. They can't hope to shut them all up.

5. we quickly need to realize they are mentally ill & capable of anything....
the whole Cabinet is suffering from the same mental illness as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Edi Amin.... carl rove is able to spin shit into gold because he is insane.. he lives in another world, he is so good at his work only because he is able to communicate and discribe his delusions so well.. and so well as to convince others who are imoral or weak minded of its reality

this mental and moral sickness is contagious, we are in an epidemic.
one skymptom of this mental illness is war, the elements of fascism.

6. And it seems to be contagious.
Why else would the vast majority of Republicans - whom I assume must have had functioning brains at some point - still see this loser as someone they should support?

I read the WaPo article last night about how the regime is blaming the local & state authorities for the screw-ups. And now I read on DU that Brown will take the hit. I'm still seething from last night's article that these flipping idiots refuse to take any blame for anything. Cover-ups are the only thing they've been good at so far, and hopefully they will have reached their Peter Principle on that too. Man, it's official...I now HATE this regime.

4. I don't think it's tinfoil so much as knowing how these guys operate.
There are many reasons they might want to take over NOLA, and none of them are about saving lives and providing safety for the citizens. THAT has never been a priority in this administration. Their priorities are:

- providing contracts for cronies
- hiding incriminating information/actions
- maintaining and increasing political power
- getting govt OUT of the business of helping people, because that just drains resources that can be used for any of the above

I can't even begin to understand the cutting of emergency lines....

Third world level incompetence saturates this administration from top to bottom.
