Bush needs to fire Michael Brown (FEMA head) and appoint Bill Clinton
FEMA utterly failed the whole gulf coast. There should have been a plan, including how to get poor and elderly people out of New Orleans before the storm hit. Shelters should have been up and running and stocked with food and other supplies before the storm hit. School buses, trucks, planes, etc. should have been used to evacuate the city before the storm hit. So many things could have been done that weren't. National guard units could have been on their way to the gulf while Katrina was still pounding the area. It is stupid for Brown to say that helicopters can't fly in a hurricane. But they can fly BEFORE the hurricane and directly AFTER the hurricane. While the flood waters were rising on Monday after Katrina was gone FEMA sat on their collective asses because they thought the worst was over. That is inexcusable.

George Bush, it is not too late to show you actually care. Fire Brown. Appoint Bill Clinton as FEMA Head, give him 20 billion dollars to work with and mobilize all available National Guard to the gulf region now. The dead are dead. Do right by the living.

3. Takes too long. Right now he is all we've got. Besides, impeachment =
Dickhead Cheney. Impeach Cheney and we get Hastert. Some choice.

5. Disagree, there are thousands of retired senior military officers that
could do a better job as FEMA head. The problem as always will be getting adequate funds for to prepare FEMA for a variety of emergencies.

Clinton's strengths lie elsewhere.

6. TOO EASY. Brown is doomed anyway. He is their target for
scapegoating but it's Bush who needs to pay. This morning when he said it wasn't acceptable you knew Brown's head was going to roll. It's like Abu Ghraib; they know they have to cut their losses and blame somebody to protect themselves by sacrificing some pawns. Brown is a moron and should be fired for the sake of people who are suffering and dying but B is the one who should pay the biggest price. He should not be allowed to get away with sacrificial firings!

8. Well if Brown had any balls he would resign after Bush said that
and tell Bush, "O.K. if you are so smart YOU do it."

7. That would be just perfect...
...for THEM! They can just blame anything that goes wrong on Clinton!

I want Bush and everyone who voted for him to bear the responsibility for every life lost.

9. I don't care. It would save lives. Too many people have died already.
As much as I want to see Bush brought down, he is president and the president is the only one who can assemble the resources to solve the problem. We can't let him fail in this. Otherwise a lot more people are going to die.
