The pResidunce could have...
Organized, communicated, and calmed the country. We knew it was going to be devastating. Why no press conference to preview his possible evacuation plans, for New Orleans? Where was his formal address to the country urging the gulf residents to evacuate?
He could have mobilized the National Guard beforehand, secured the Airline industry for possible airlift evacuations. Any number of things besides golf, lunches, and hob knobbing.

1. An evacuation effort should have been a pre-landfall
event, not nearly a week afterwards when damage has been allowed to compound.

2. You tell me
I'm the one who was called a kook, freep, and drive-by when I posted that my boyfriend sat with 300+ trucks in a FEMA installation near Ft Worth for a week and a half, waiting to haul ice, water, etc. They were still sitting there for $200 per day 4-5 days AFTER Emily made landfall.

Anyone want to explain this to me?

3. Clinton would have been a beacon of hope and responsibity in
displaying true presidential effectiveness to calm and direct a troubled country. I have wondered how much different the aftermath of 9/11 would have been with his dynamic and reassuring leadership. It doesn't take much imagination to realize this country would be far better off today and he had be able to serve a third term even with a belligerent repuke congress. I may like some his recent statements but there is not denying he extraordinary abiltiy to execute the duty of a president during a crisis.
