Bush's car passed right in front of me and I gave him the bird. I feel
wonderful. I know he saw it too as he turned his head! This was as he left. This was worth standing in the sun for! Some protestors thought I shouldn't do it but , it felt so good.

1. Why not. He gives it himself.
If it's acceptable behavior for the "president" then it's acceptable behavior for a protester of the "president".

9. The cops were wonderful! They gave us directions when we were blocked off
and they gave us water and kept asking people if they were okay and what could they do to help. I have NEVER seen them do this before. It was as if they supported us!Several of us got into an altercation with a really stupid Repuke and they told "her" to behave!

53. Last Saturday
Two of the longest, loudest honks we got were from the cops who had been sent to keep an eye on us when we were protesting. They hung around for about an hour, I guess realized that things were pretty peaceful and left. There were four cars (one on each corner). As they were leaving, two of them laid on their horns for a LONG time as they drove by. All the demonstrators went nuts yelling and waving their signs.

36. Wouldn't it be wonderful if some teevee yakker got one of those cops
on for some comments and the cop says how great the team on Mrs. Sheehan's side of the road really are?

Rita Cosby to the Crawford Cop .... and the Crawford Cop saying Cindy's right.

That would be 'must see teevee' for sure!

...because it lessens the impact. And, as importantly, it can coarsen one, we are not ditto heads or zombies who attack in a base, depraved fashion. We are liberals, not unprincipled, unmannered street fighters in disarray. We have dignity and purpose. Cindy Sheehan provides an excellent example.

An occasional flip of the finger can have an effect, perhaps. More than that is a commonplace an often irrelevant sign of personal pique and general disrespect... of whatever.

We are smarter and better than that, you are smarter and better than that. Trust me. :)

51. He's much too chickenshit to do that. He's the most cowardly President
we have ever had. Never fights his own fights:

- cheerleader at Yale instead of on the football team

- defended Texas when the Vietnam War was raging.

- send out Laura when the heat starts rising.

A total pussy.

28. SCOTUS has determined that this is your Right!
Edited on Mon Aug-29-05 03:58 PM by Wizard777
This comes from a ruling involving a Maryland man arrested for giving a Maryland State Trooper the finger durring a traffic stop. SCOTUS determined that this was not a protection afford the President. So it was not a protection that could be afforded to the Officer.

It just takes one Marylander to question authority to seccure for the entire Nation the right to give the President the finger. I think it past time to exercize this First Amendment right.

I guess this is another one of those from Maryland With Pride moments. Yes I'm Proud to be a Marylander. Because our Crabs are blue! Maryland is where we fought for the bird that flew. Yes Mr. Bush, We're going to stand up and give the Bird to you! Go O's!

Oh yeah, we have a wicked sense of humor too. Everybody knows Baltimore City has the Best Crabs and Ocean City has the best Bearded Clams in the county. Maryland says, Eat Me!

Just get a lil sarcastic and your home. New Yorkers are rude and Marylanders are sacastic. That's the first thing you learn at a Yankee's vs. O's game.

WELL NEW YORK WE'RE WAITING! WHEN ARE YOU HIMPS GOING TO SHOW BUSH SOME OF THAT GOOD OLD FASHIONED NEW YORK RUDENESS? WHAT THE MATTER ARE YOU :scared:? DO YOU NEED TO :hide: FROM THE BIG BAD BUSHYMAN?

As I'm sure you know. Maryland will take our land back before we take any shit from DC. That's for damned sure!

42. i flipped his daddy once...
in '89 me , my wife and kids were driving back from disneyworld. we stopped in d. c. for the night and to show kids the sights. we were standing in front of white house(when it was allowed). a gaurd asked us if we wanted to see the president, so we said yes. he took us around the side and i was in front of large gate as his car pulled in, he looked right at me, only 20 ft. away, so i flipped him the bird.
