1. Bush to his base: who cares what you think
they might finally realize they voted against their best interests when they voted in Bush, when they have their homes foreclosed on, when they have to eat dog food for dinner. of course, gay people cannot get married. But when I see people who voted for Bush start complaining, I say, tough shit, you asked for it. Live with the consequences.
These people are idiots, those letters all get thrown in the trash.

"What a disgusting abomination of a human being, and an absolute multi-felon you actually are!"

"You embody everything unholy, and errant, that can manifest in one being! You are, quite simply, purely evil, and your supporters are forfeiting their very souls by their alliance with such debasement!"

3. Halliburton's proffits are up something like 800%
All oil companies are posting record profits.

And this war has more to do with protecting the interests of Saudi Arabia than with those of any other country in the mid-east.

4. RE: Letters to the Prez
While it is heartening to see quite a few now-former-Republicans writing in protest letters due to their frustration at the high gas prices, I am still utterly dumbfounded by authors who are members of lower-to-middle income families who voted for Bush. I mean, what were they thinking? Now these authors dislike policies that result in oil profits for big corporations, tax breaks for the rich, less/more expensive benefits for the lower and middles classes.....did these people not know who they were voting for?

17. My sentiments exactly,
what kind of man would go to court to have the people's voice silenced in order to obtain power in the first place. It amazes me that after his 2000 appointment to office that anyone would expect him to now show some integrity, courage, compassion, empathy or wisdom. The man is a con-artist and he was enabled to power by the same corpwhorate media that cheerleaded him on to war with Iraq. They did not want an adult in charge and they have gotten their wish.

7. If Donald Trump were elected president,
these people would obviously expect commercial real estate prices to plummet.

"If building costs and real estate prices get too high, I'll git on the horn to them builders 'n real estate spec'ulators and jawbone 'em to git prices down." President The Donald

8. My boss was talking to a long time friend
He was very upset about the gas prices but voted for Bush. He was just griping away, so my boss said, "Well, people voted to put him back in the White House. What did you expect? They're all in the oil industry." This guy said, "Oh, I don't think it's Bush's fault." My boss ended the conversation right there - she didn't want to get angry. It's bad for her health.

19. She's not acting much like a Republican here, is she?
I was even turned down for a job as a teacher's aide because I am not bilingual. I am currently pursuing an elementary/special education degree in which I will graduate in December 2006. I would not be at all surprised if I am turned down for a teaching job because I am still not bilingual.

Wouldn't the Republican response to this be "tough, get off your ass and learn it"? Or is that just for other people?

14. I love this one
The writer is very clever, since the memo line is "Thanks," so the sycophants and toadies handling the Bush mail might actually forward it to their boss under the assumption that it is fan-mail.

Thanks

To:
President George Bush

August 16, 2005

No president has done anything about energy since the 1973 embargo. The Arabs and the Big Oil companies take in record profits and get billions of dollars of tax breaks. Do the big oil companies invest in future energy development? Your free ride is over Mr. President. Now the economy will start to show the effects of real inflation and you will not be able to mask the underlying problem any more with bogus fuzzy math. Please, don't even think about responding because we both know what your answer is worth and I don't want to waste my energy.

18. the sheeple are waking up......
http://www3.capwiz.com/usatoday/bio/userletter/?id=20004&letter_id=449662151&content_dir=congressorg

"I'm a life long Republican who has towed the party line for all of my 50 years. However, I find myself thinking twice about the future of the Republican party. My concern, and many fellow middle class Republicans like me, are finding it very difficult to continue to support the party."

"The President and the rest of the Republican party will not have our votes if this lack of action continues unabated."

As we say up here in MA - Light dawns on Marblehead!
