Skull and Crossbones Goes to War
The well-placed members of Skull and Crossbones look out for one other. It's reasonable to conclude that John Kerry wouldn't have gone to Vietnam if he didn't want to, and wouldn't have been assigned to anything dangerous if it weren't good for his career. Kerry got whatever he wanted by making a phone call.

Kerry's Silver Star was awarded for doing something the Navy actually discourages - he abandoned ship in the middle of a fire fight, leaving his crew to fend for themselves. And despite the conflict of interest, Kerry's own statements provided the documentation for elements of the award. Later, when Kerry exploited a loophole to cut his tour short, the Navy broke its tradition of punishing maverick officers, and actually rewarded him. When John Kerry wants it, he gets it.

Lest he leave behind some disgruntled crew members, Kerry pulled strings to get them reassigned to soft duty. How many other lieutenants have that kind of clout? Kerry was a Golden Boy, and everybody knew it, especially his commanding officers. One screw-up and there goes your career.

2. Before this thread gets locked...
Let me thank you for showing us what we can expect in the general election. But then, we'll have the AWOL one for comparison.

Kerry is the master of illusion.....Has he told his war story lies so much that he now believes them?

Most real war hero's, like Clark or McCain do not brag like Kerry does. My father would not ever think of braggin nor his buddies at the VFW.... I'm glad the truth is being told.

4. It's Skull and Bones, not Skull and Crossbones.
Although that would be appropriate, too. :-)

I would alert but I think I would rather have it here for all to see.

7. Is this your opinion, or did you get this material
somewhere?

I've never heard about the questionable Silver Star, what's your source?

P.S. if it's an S&B conspiracy site, never mind.

9. two words
prove it. Conspiracy theories are generally built on innuendo and circustantial evidence. You are saying kerry abandoned ship and exploited a loophole to get out of vietnam. ok fine. show me how <ominous music>Skull & Bones</end ominous music> actually helped him out here rather than just asking me to assume they did. And explain to me how this is any different than my dad having his father who was an *enlisted* naval guy (NOT an officer) call up the draft board and basically work his way through his old naval buddies to get my dad a deferrment (when they were living in the projects...we are not talking about a priveleged family here). People did and do anything they can to get out of difficult situations. If I'm a member of a fraternity, a <ominous music>secret society</end ominous music> or the damned boyscouts and they try and draft me into the army to fight an unjust war I know im doing everything I can to get out of it.

inflammatory and without sources of information.

8. If you make a factual assertion about a candidate that is not generally accepted to be true, you must provide a link to a reputable source to back up your claim.
