The photos the government won't release show the slow
dismemberment of young girls with chain saws. PROVE THEY DON'T ASSHOLES, RELEASE THE GODAMNED PICTURES. If you don't, them we should be free to assume they show any atrocity we can imagine in our looney tinfoil hat brains.

4. At the next Scottie press conference the questions should be
"Do they show the rape of adult women? Do they show the rape of children? Do they show the use of cattle prods? Whips?, etc."

2. SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW THEY CAN DO THIS?
I'm outraged that BushCo is attempting to obstruct justice by refusing to release these photos. Is that accurate...is that REALLY what they're doing?

It sounds like these pictures depict abuse of children, women and other really awful atrocities.

You know what that tells me? That horrendous crimes were committed and the govt has allowed the perpetrators to remain unaccountable. Think about it. There are pictures of atrocities--maybe children, little girls and women being beaten and tortured. However, no one has been prosecuted for such crimes. We haven't heard a thing about these latest, sick acts.

Our government is covering up torture! They denied it before. They claimed they held those in the photos accountable, and that torture would not be allowed.

If newly released photos depict even worse crimes--with the perpetrators running free--this absolutely and unequivocally demonstrates that our government allowed torture and did nothing when they had the pictures!

My blood runs cold just thinking about us doing these things. Witnesses are saying that we have camps in which hundreds of Iraqi children are being held. Cry or scream....what do I do?

What in the hell is happening? They can't get away with this!

It's not that I want to see horrible pictures. I want to see what my government has been covering for these many months.

Didn't some Senators see these pictures as well???? Why haven't they talked? Why won't someone speak up!!

Please, someone tell me that they will release these photos--so the truth can come out. That can't just refuse to release, can they?

<sickened beyond belief> :(

13. I agree
I don't recognize this country anymore nor feel comfortable. I have two sons and I wish they could live safely in a country where it's leaders are somewhat on the level and obey the nation's and international laws, a free press to keep the leaders honest and where my son's rights can't be taken away. Our founding fathers would call on us to do something but there is no real help from the public.

21. I'm certainly not doubting anyone's word here,
but I need a specific link. I'm planning on dropping all this on my union BBS in a day or so. Surprisingly, there are a few Bush-loving Ditto-heads there, and I need to make the case as irrefutable as possible. A few there will still call me "commie", but I'm getting used to that by now. Most of the others there are sick of such childishness, but are still prisoners of the MSM.

I'll see what I can do with Google, but I could still use suggestions for key-words.

6. Maybe we should start spreading that around. Look: LBJ did it
Edited on Sat Jul-23-05 05:16 PM by calimary
way back in the day when he was down in the last days before an election. His decision? To throw all kinds of amazingly ridiculous accusations at his opponent, like how he slept with pigs or something. LBJ's point? What you want to do is make them deny it. Who cares if it's true? Just plant the seed.

And I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR about how that's just dirty pool and we shouldn't stoop that low and it makes us just as bad as the bad guys and blah-blah-blah. I've got news for everybody here: I WANT TO BE LIKE THE BAD GUYS. Why? Because the bad guys WIN. And if that's the way they've rewritten the rules - they go LBJ one or two thousand better - then that's the game we're stuck playing, and I have no inclination to go to a gun fight wielding a feather duster as my weapon.

Besides, that might force them to reveal some of the photos...or at least get people talking about them and how bad they are.

16. That reminds me of a fabulous statement by DUer gratuitous, I believe.
It was something to the effect of:

"As an American taxpayer, I paid for those photographs. All of them. They're mine, and I want to see them. I want to see what I got for my money. Those photos were all paid for by MY tax money. Let me see what I got for my money."

Nothing could be more spot-on. Gratuitous paid for these. So did I. So did everybody here. So did ALL Americans. We paid for them against our will, as did MANY MORE Americans. I think we're owed. I, too, want to see what I got for my money. Those photos are MINE because I, too, paid for them. SHOW ME MY PHOTOGRAPHS.

Edited on Sat Jul-23-05 05:28 PM by sam sarrha
In a big pot.. the pictures are graphic. Actually WE kidnapped alleged terrorists, illegally flew them to uzbekistan and Karamov extracted whatever information they had or whatever for US..A. by boiling them to death.. he apparently has a kinky thing going, because he VIDEO tapes the process for his personal enjoyment.

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article3943.htm
the scariest most horrific photo was Bu$h's smile with the
'Boiler' Karamov

if you really want HORRIFIC..!!! and this is Graphic Shit..
this is caused by depleted uranium, we have dumped 1000 tons of this crap there.. this is all because of us and it will be for ever..!!

22. There are 2,000 photos and a few videos.
Congress persons were shown the ones that the public didn't see a few days after the 1st batch were shown on TV. They were horrified. The DOD took them back. Also, 1,000 pages of a 2,000 page report was never delivered to Congress. The excuse was that someone had forgotten to copy the other 1K off for Congress. They never have delivered them.

I doubt if the public will ever see these 900 or so photos and the several videos.

25. I worry about the precedent this can set if the photos aren't released
That in itself should form the basis of part of the ACLU's response to the government's motion to suppress. If THESE photos of attrocities are not released, then it gives our government carte blanche to perpetrate any attrocity from here on out without accountabiilty to the American people. It also encourages the U.S. to escalate their torture, knowing that no photographic or videographic evidence can ever be released to embarrass and condemn them in the future. I hope that the ACLU points out that no prosecution of military personnel was contemplated before the previous Abu Ghraib photos were released and that the only reason certain individuals were convicted and investigations were initiated was because of those photos. I hope the ACLU also argues that there are no current investigations or prosecutions under way regarding these new photos and videos (to our knowledge) because the evidence has not been released. This will set a very bad and worrisome trend of these photos are allowed to be suppressed.
