6. But Bush DID pick Souter
Well, the elder Bush did. Souter was nominated after Bork went down in flames.

2. Except that Bork, as anti-American as he was, had credentials...
Judge Frenchfry is a partisan hack who has spent about TWO YEARS total as a judge...

Since when is Supreme Court Justice an entry-level position?

7. That tac won't work
as several of our wonderful Democratic senators suggested several of their repuke collegues for the job none of whom have served on the bench. And several good justices had no prior judicial expierience as well.

11. Sez you...
"everal of our wonderful Democratic senators suggested several of their repuke collegues for the job none of whom have served on the bench"
But they at least have a record of public service...Roberts has nothing but low level hackery for hire...

"And several good justices had no prior judicial expierience..."
Name one.

16. In other words YOU have no clue
years on a lower court has never been a requirement for SCOTUS service.

This guy is a FAR-RIGHTWINGER. Say that and people will believe it. Say he's unqualified and they won't cause he's not, he's just holds very bad opinions.

12. But Warren had a long career of public service to that point...
Roberts has no such resume...he's been a low-level hack all his life.

8. Bork was easy to hate - they are going to make this guy out to be a
modest, thoughtful guy with a heart. Heyday times for the right wing. Puke time coming.

By the way, if he has a heart - how could he rule against the environment?

10. let's make that analogy fully realized

By eventually stopping him. I think the racial politics of this, he being another white guy (and thus a very dependable right winger--with apologies to the liberal white guys here at DU, since you are rather exceptional), which this country never does not engage in, make it possible to filibuster the guy since a particularly gutless corps of Democrats would never vote against a minority or even a woman, no matter how backward they were.

13. Democrats need to focus on the scandal for the next few weeks
As soon as Fitzgerald indicts or hands down report, we can shift. But right now the emphasis needs to be the scandal.
