DIVERSION!!!
No one here likes Roberts. No need to argue about him at all. Because of the summer recess we have FIVE WEEKS before Congress can do anything on him.

Take that time to research and compile the dirt on him. Keep the bloggers near, as they are already on it.

Don't freak out because * took a shit in the punchbowl!!

Remember What They Are Most Afraid Of. Remember What Has Given Us The Most Gains Since 2000!

Don't get distracted. THEY ARE VULNERABLE NOW MORE THAN EVER!!!

4. Your right
and I was really tickled though when watching tonight's news coverage that reporters said several times, that the timing of this is rather suspicious and would provide a distraction from Rove, which the White House is hoping for.

9. YES! We have the momentum now!
Real momentum, not fake Joementum. This old buggy is starting to move, people are starting to wake up, some in the Corporate Media are starting to do something resembling their jobs!

If the pukes wince in pain, IT IS A GOOD SIGN!!

Must Keep The Pressure ON!

I guess some of them aren't going to let the Rove situation go, even with this Supreme Court nomination discussion.

11. Check out this letter from 11 former intel officers delivered to congress
From Talking Points Memo.

"Today a group of 11 former intelligence officers delivered a letter to the Republican and Democratic leadership in the House and the Senate on the Plame case. See it here. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/docs/intel.officers.letter.pdf

-- Josh Marshall"

The first paragraph:

We, the undersigned former U.S. intelligence officers are concerned with the tone and substance of the public debate over the ongoing Department of Justice investigation into who leaked the name of Valerie Plame, wife of former U.S. Ambassador Joseph Wilson IV, to syndicated columnist Robert Novak and other members of the media, which exposed her status as an undercover CIA officer. The disclosure of Ms. Plame’s name was a shameful event in American history and, in our professional judgment, may have damaged U.S. national security and poses a threat to the ability of U.S. intelligence gathering using human sources. Any breach of the code of confidentiality and cover weakens the overall fabric of intelligence, and, directly or indirectly, jeopardizes the work and safety of intelligence workers
and their sources.

16. exactly right
Remember before Turdgate exploded? Pundits were speculating that Bushco would wait as long as possible to make the nomination so that the Senate would only have a few weeks to hold hearings before the court is scheduled to start its new session in October. They didn't want to get Bolton-ed again so by waiting they could try to ram somebody through before all of the rocks could be turned over.

But now, they are desperate to regain control of the agenda and raising the terra level just ain't working anymore. bwah hah hah hah

21. Their main agenda is corporatism. Remember that.
The guy is a corporatist. That he's anti-privacy is spice to get the opposition excited. They want conflict and diversion. I say we give them conflict and maintain focus on all issues. They want us to fall on ourselves sqabbling. They want to control the national discourse. They want to give energy to their fundy base. They want to get the HELL OFF of DSM and the traitor Rove. HAH!

Maintain focus and simply add this new thing. This is how we step up our game. This is how we not only maintain momentum, but increase velocity. We have been operating at a high level of involvement and attention, now we increase our energy level. We can do it. A few years ago we could hardly get around the block. Lately we have been running five miles a day. Now, we go to six!

The blogs are with us. We have REAL leadership in the House and Senate, and we know who they are. We have a radio broadcast infrastructure to bring the news and to keep us in sight of those House & Senate beacons of action. Look back, see how far we've come!

It's happening, and I say "Faster, Faster, More and Now!"

it didn't go so well for them the last time they tried to appeal to their fundie base. I don't see it going any better this time.

I will fight this one as hard as anyone else but just right now, I'm amused. They've screwed up on this one as badly as they've ever screwed up.

26. Ken Mehlman, RNC Chairman told me to Ensure Confirmation
[email protected]

Mehlman sent out a mass email calling for support of the SOTUS nominee by signing a petition, calling Senators, etc.

I sent him an email back:
"Ken,
I agree let's get this guy on the SOTUS ASAP so the country doesn't take it's eye off the Rovegate/DSM ball. I bet you guys are just praying for a Dem filibuster."

27. Smoke screen to divert from rove....
He's trying to tie up the publics attention on this half baked candidate, hopefully thinking that the sheeple will be distracted long enough.

The problem is: this one is so obvious. A smarter scumbag would have picked a less controversial choice but one that also made a few wild decisions. That way it would have been mired in partisan bickering, this guy is a nut and even many of the repukes will vote this jerk down.

35. Rove is a Quisling
He's of Norwegian heritage, and subsequently that word should fit very well.

"Vidkun Abraham Lauritz Jonssøn Quisling (July 18, 1887–October 24, 1945) was a Norwegian fascist politician and officer. He held the office of Minister President of Norway from February 1942 to the end of World War II, while the elected social democratic cabinet of Johan Nygaardsvold was exiled in London. Quisling was tried for high treason and executed by firing squad after the war. His name has become an eponym for traitor."

Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 06:44 AM by bowens43
Packing the court with conservative extremists has always been the goal of this administration. Nothing is going to happen to Rove and even if it did it would not make a bit of difference. Keeping us focused on bringing down a nobody like Rove and ignoring that battle for the courts is a very smart move on their part.
