Whoa - Wolf Blitzer show pointing fingers at Cheney in Treasongate!
They dared to point the finger at Cheney - the first time I've seen that on TV!

They're starting to feel a little more free to talk about what might be going on.

Lanny Davis is kinda dissing Dems over this. I don't agree with him. It almost sounds like the pols are circling the wagons to say nothing should be done.

Hatch is an idiot.

4. They started by talking about Scooter Libby's involvement...
...but when they started talking about him, they started implying that if Scooter was involved, so was Cheney. Then they talked about how the two men work together, than they have the same political views, etc.

They point fingers at Rove, but they don't say it's Bush.

That's what surprised me. When they started talking about Libby, they seemed to imply that it automatically implicated Cheney.

12. Stay tuned.
Last week, they weren't willing to point at Cheney. A few weeks ago, they were pretty timid even about Rove. Floods can start as trickles.

3. I've had the television on all day to CNN. They have discussed
these issues ALL day about Libby and Rove and Cooper. And the pResident's firing someone if they have committed a crime.

5. That will be the day, this administration is not in the habit of
throwing any that agrees with their mindset under the bus, and for the most part Mr. Cheney is the administration's mind set.

6. Committed a crime is a key issue:
I think that they look at Plame's residency in the US in 1997 and say, well, she hasn't been overseas in more than five years. I think they take that to mean, too bad, outing her was not a crime because of the statute of limitations.

Unfortunately for them, I think Fitzpatrick is smart enough to dot the i's and cross the t's on this; she must have been overseas more recently, even if she was not in residence.

Secondly, my usual refrain. Everyone, together: Perjury. Obstruction of Justice.

9. The context should be, not that Plame wasn't out of country
But that the leak blew a LONG TIME CIA covert operation! To the best of my knowledge, the front company she worked for was an ongoing operation.

It's not just about Wilson and Plame anymore.

because it's a rarely-made point in the MSM.

17. CNN had improved in the past couple of weeks, IMO
Since their revamping. I can actually listen to American Morning again while I'm getting ready for work and even Reliable Sources didn't totally suck this past Sunday. Not, totally.

I know some DU'ers feel like this is dragging along but I am frankly stunned at how fast things are coming out now that Time, Inc. broke the dam.

15. Cheney's office probably felt responsible for Wilson (since it had
requested the trip_ and was probably intimately involved the leaking which as orchestrated by Rove during a meeting of the White House Iraq Group.

With 9 calls and 3 confirmations minimum, one can be sure Rove mastermined the situation to make sure leaks were effective (not overlapping, off-the-cuff, etc.) and planned to have a number of administration officials to confirm the stroy. With a probable minimum of 4 officials involved, one can be sure Rove was conspiring to have the leak discredit Wilson.

16. Beyond V. Plame.
This is about DSM. The Bush Regime is sending out as many of their RW troops as they can muster to mount a grand Offensive. So far, no RWingers have brocken ranks on this issue. They are either silent, attacking or defending. The RW knows that this can topple the Bush Regime and lose many seats in Congress.
