Just Listened to BS O'reilly on Fox....The Nerve of the RW
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 07:29 PM by beboplives
I should not be, but still continue to shudder at the brazen nerve of the RW spin machine known as Fox News. A few minutes ago, EST, O'Reilly's guest host suggested in essence that Valerie Plame set up her husband on the Niger trip as part of a left wing covert operation designed to embarrass the Bush Administration. He went on to say with a straight face, that her covert status was merely used a means to cover up this goal.

Am I being unreasonable when my blood boils at such idiocy? Does this unreconstructed fool realize that the CIA turned this case into the justice department? Are we now going to hear an endless montage of stories about the Plames being part of some rogue intelligence sting, and be expected to accept this garbage without minding the stench?

I can now safely say that Prometheus of myth could not have been a conservative. They enjoy living in darkness too much.

This is off of the RW Talking Points sheet
Believe me this will come back and bite them in the ass one of these days. They are very desperate at this time. The real problem is that this makes for very dangerous people at this point.

You can find RW Talking Point sheet at Raw Story.

6. Remember that Rove is the architect of RW Talking Points Sheets - this
one shows just how stung Rove is about all this - he's beginning to unravel and his Talking Points are beginning to plum the depths of the outrageously absurd.

14. Excellent, are they getting cross-blogged?
Those things should be literally everywhere. I hadn't heard Raw Story had them, do you know if all the blogs are posting and linking to them?

3. They are very effective
at turning the debate around and making it about the other party.

If the dems don't get off of their butts the RW is going to successfully reframe this debate. We need to keep attacking nonstop and keep them on the defensive. It is especially important because this issue can also be used to re-open the fact that Bush used information that he knew to be false in his state of the union address.

7. I respectfully disagree - this shows how ineffective they are becoming.
And I would also venture to say that more and more dems *have been* attacking nonstop all week. To the point that the MSM continues to run this whole story as front page news. The DSM never got that kind of coverage, although it should have. Even Joe Wilson patiently and very smartly waited out three days to assess the progress of the story before appearing yesterday on talk shows and in the halls of Congress very effectively slamming Rove and his RW minions.

11. They have won the last 2 elections
precisely because they can frame the debate. 9-11 happens on Bush's watch yet they are able to convince the American public that Democrats are weak on national security and terrorism.

John Kerry was a decorated war hero and yet they managed to sow seeds of doubt in millions of people.

And the list goes on.

12. No argument there. But this week's been very unusual.

And I think Rove's RW Talking Points indicate Rove is on the edge of a nervous breakdown. He's completely losing it. Because they make absolutely no sense any more.

4. Those are the RW talking points
And your blood should boil. The "case" against the Wilsons (intended as a defense of Karl Rove) is a series of lies, half truths and red herrings.

15. I agree...
I used to watch just to keep up on what BS the other side is spewing, but recently have come to believe that sticking red hot pokers in my eyes is preferable to watching FAUX. Besides, since the pukes are all marching in lock-step now, you see one puke uttering drivel, you've seen them all!:grr: :nuke: :argh:

16. Just say NO to Fox
I completely understand the desire to stop on that un-news station just to see what fodder they're selling today. But don't filthy yourself. Fight the urge. Put a DVD on. Hop over to Link TV or FSTV if you get them. Movie channels are my distraction. A b&w classic always gets my mind off the jingoists. And when I'm feeling particularly bitchy about it all, I watch Kill Bill Vol. 1. ;)

Don't watch Fox. Don't give 'em the time of day. Even better, don't watch 'em and send them an email TELLING THEM you aren't watching them, and why.

19. Toss Me A Cup of Coffee...
When O'Reilly reaches the point at which Valerie Plame was originally HIRED by the CIA as a gigantic, long-term entrapment for the innocent lambs of Rove's ilk to stumble naively into - but not until O'Reilly has Miss Cleo prompting Bill Clinton to hire her - and definitely not until Clinton gets Miss Cleo's psychic advice while enjoying a tour of a back hallway with Miss Lewinsky.

They'll get there, eventually.

I give it until Tuesday afternoon, myself.
