That would be an interesting stance to take.
They would have to continue to bootlick Jesus Bush, but call anyone else a traitor, and anyone else would be correct in calling Bush a traitor.

Will this make their heads explode as logic collides with the virtual vacuum inside their skulls.

In other words, what happens, if and when, the light of reason finally shines in their eyes?
When there is no way to spin or wiggle out of the reality?

Will we see massive psychosis? Brownshirt bedlam?

Not a pretty thing to contemplate.

look at those who call Deep Throat a traitor.

The man was an absolute crook, and many Repukes continue to claim that he did nothing wrong (nixon that is).

Cheers

3. They can re-elect a deserter
why shouldn't they stand behind a traitor?

4. Absolutely they will
Nixon's supporters denied all wrongdoing on his part even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.... Dubya's sychophants are no different.

7. The power of denial/ "my team mentality" is amazing.
Freepers never cease to amaze me with their "wiggle logic," everytime a damaging story to BushCo comes out I go over there to see how they spin it and it is truly amazing just the sheer power of denial or twisting of the facts.

10. My country, "right or wrong".
It's amazing how many of them believe in the "my party, right or wrong" philosophy. That's why it's so hard to talk to them; facts don't matter. It's all emotion.

11. They might see reason if it weren't for the RW control of the airwaves.
But their friends (like Rush) will find a way to spin the news to make their continued support of Bush palatable.

12. His treasonous acts are against our country
Free Republic members care nothing about our country; they are only concerned with their insane agenda of destroying the country through constitutional amendments and judicial nominees. Therefore, yes, people who hate our country (free repulic members) will continue to support george bush as long as he pushes their agenda. If he commits treasonous acts against our country, no big deal to them.

14. "... will freepers continue to support Bush if guilty of treason?"
Yes.

They'll find a way to blame it on Bill Clinton, as always, and move on. But... not all that voted for Bush are "freepers". I think the Values Voters will turn on him eventually.

Of course they will support their criminals.
