More background on the Plame investigation...
Here's the document with the relevant quotes regarding Ambassador Wilson's trip to Niger:

http://news.findlaw.com/hdocs/docs/iraq/sic70904iraqrpt-2.pdf

This is an important read because it directly contridicts what BushCo has been saying. When you see their spin in the press, you can email the article to the reporter on the piece.

It's an acrobat file, and I gave up trying to get it to copy and paste. (sigh)

Here's a great page with all the background documents:

After reading just some of it, I wonder how in the world anyone 'in the know' could have believed Iraq was a danger. Granted, our guys were over there doing the no-fly-zone thingie, and Saddam was thumbing his nose at everyone - but how the heck did they extrapolate that into a direct danger to the United States? To the point that Rove would take direct action against Ambassador Wilson to silence his dissention? Unless there's a boatload of classified documents we haven't seen that have a whole lot more evidence, basing a decision to go to war on this scanty group is nothing short of criminal.

Clearly, the motivations were political and not related to national security.
