Nine isn't a number carved in stone...regarding Supreme Court justices.
If we should happen to wrest control of our government from the claws of imperialism, we may, in part, be able to salvage what is left of our justice system. That is if the worst comes to pass and the Supreme Court becomes a bastion of the radicalism of the fascists, the corporations, and the religious right under the bushbots.

Just a thought. :)

Freepers, it is time to stop drinking the kool aid, or you may find yourselves eating soylent green at the nearest McDonald's before heading off for vespers and the required political rally that follows. Libertarian will be just another opprobrium for liberal. True conservatives will be "fellow travelers". The powerbots are on a roll and you are cheering them on. I would call that, on it's face, unAmerican.

He got shot down by his own party.

3. Yes, he did. Naughty, naughty.
:) That is what the far right and the corporations are so ticked off with "liberals" about. He was trying to avert communism from gaining a foothold in the U.S., and it worked. They just see the "socialism" aspect and would throw the baby out with the bath water, so to speak. :)
